We've eaten at a few sit-down restaurants in the World Showcase, but we're trying something new this trip. We'd like to snack around the world and sample things from each country.

This would be our dinner and we (dh, me, dd12, dd10) could share items from each country, not filling up at one place.

So, please give me your recommendations for snacks/dinner at each country!

Thanks.

Some of our must have's are brats from Germany - there is a small cart outside of the german restaurant. We also like getting eggrolls (I think you get two per order) in China - relatively inexpensive snack from the counter service. We also stop for dessert at Norwegian Bakery for school bread and/or the bakery in France for pastries.

My favorite snack in WS is a Veiled Maiden from the Kringla Bakeri og Cafe in Norway.

A Veiled Maiden resembles a parfait and comes in a cup about the size of a McDonalds sunday. It's layers of chilled apple sauce and whipped cream - cool, light, not overly filling, and sweet. It makes an excellent treat on a warm day, or a night-time snack while watching Illuminations.

Another School Bread lover here! :thumbsup2

Kaki Gori (Shaved Ice) in Japan is great as well.

Potstickers and egg rolls in China...

There are some great things at Boulangerie Patisserie in France. You could share a cheese plate or a dessert :thumbsup2

Try the Chicken Bastilla (it's an appetizers), at the Restaurant Marrakesh in the Morocco Pavillion. They do not have this on the menu for their CS restaurant (Tangierine Cafe). The service for lunch at Marrakesh is quick, they have some very good appetizers, you have a little show to watch and it's relaxing.

My daughter was the same age as yours some years ago when she first tried it. And now it's a must do every year we go back.

Another vote for Boulangerie Patisserie. IMHO, some of the best Napoleon's we have had. They will always have a special place in our lives, for the wonderful job they did in surprising my daughter on her 16th birthday. As we walked by the display case her birthday cake was in between all the other offerings. Needless to say, my daughter was speachless. And everyone agreed that this was the best cake that any of us had ever eaten.

I don't know what its real name is, but it was something that looked like a pretzel at the bakery in Norway. It was covered with frosting and nuts, and my friends had to go back repeatedly to get one. I don't like nuts, so I didn't try it, but they obviously loved it.

My husband and sons also love Kaki Gori (Shaved Ice) in Japan. It is great on a hot day. Unfortunately I need a change of clothes for my little guy when he is done!

Love brats and pretzels in Germany, shrimp fried rice and pot stickers in China, anything from the bakery in France, School Bread, fruit tulips and rice cream in Norway, fish and chips in England, chocolates from Italy and kakigori in Japan...Norway, Germany and Japan also has great gummy candies

Canada - we pick up some maple candy in the store
England - fish 'n chips to share, shortbread cookies
France - chocolate mousse, cheese platter or croissant sandwich to share
Mexico - churros

Potato leek soup and school bread at Kringla Bakerei
Soft pretzel in Germany. During Christmas/New Years week, they also have good Nurnberg Wurst and goulash soup
Japanese Curry at Yakitori House
Schawarma Platter at Tangierine Cafe
Quiche, ham & cheese baguette, cheese plate, pastries at Boulangerie Patisserie
Fish & Chips at Yorkshire County Fish Shop

That's the Kringla. The bakery is named after them. They also make them without the almonds, which aren't as good, IMO.

Boulangerie Patisserie!! wonderful pastries, the croissants are amazing there. Japan has some good meats you can order to snack on, and one of my other favorites is funnel cake outside america. It's incredible!

I am a huge fan of crepes with strawberries and chocolate in from the kiosk in France. I love to have them while we wait for Illuminations.

You can always just pick out one meal from the CS's and share. That way you get a little bit of everything, and you figure out which CS places you like most!
