it has been awhile since we usde DDP, When we tried to use it last at France and wanting to use pastries for snack credits it was charged to our room. How will I know if its charged to room as cash or use as credits from the plan?
Thanks

Generally (just a note some of the small snack 'trucks' don't have this feature) on the receipt if you used a snack credit it will list how many were used and how many are left - for example 2 snack credits used 15 remain or something like that.

We've never had your problem - however when we use snack credits we're very careful to make sure what we're getting still falls under the "snack" category (some items change from year to year) and when cashing out I specifically tell the cashier that we want to use snack credits.

I hope it doesn't happen to you again.

As the previous poster said, check your receipt and makes sure it says how many snack credits you have left.

The second time we used the DDP we had a problem twice with meals or snacks being charged back to our room. Ever since then I make sure we have one KTTW card that does not have charging priviledges on it and make sure we use that card to pay for our meals and snacks. If I am traveling solo, I just don't put charging priviledges on my room key for that trip. That way there is no way to charge the meal/snack back to the room.

Thanks, we are paying cash for all our tips, I never realized you can ask for NO charging priviledges. Last time we had 6 snacks credit put in as cash and I didn''t realized it until I was in the airport (we had paid cash for 6 and I still have 6 Credits left:headache:...I had a feeling our last 2 days when we went to French)...my husband said its not a big deal but this time we are in DxDDP and I really don't want it to happen again.
So no charging priviledges means no tips or snacks and no merchadise right? Just want to make sure.
Thanks again for the recommendation

Right, "no charging" means none of those expenses can be charged to the card.

Simplest approach is to use your son's card for this -- it can still access all of the room's DDP credits, but you probably aren't going to want to use it for other charges. That way, both of the adults can have charging privileges and not have to worry about it,

thank you, I didn't realized you can have one card with no charging.
Thanks for the advice.:goodvibes

Plus, they feel that THEY are buying it! hehe At least that is how my daughter would feel. I will say "you are in charge of paying for all of our meals!" hahaa

I was interested about this as well....
Planning to get snacks at Patisserie, but are we limited to the number of people on our KTTW? Let's say 3ppl, so are we allowed to get 6 snacks at that time? We're planning to bring half back to our room and eat them for breakfast the following morning? Just making sure we don't get charged for the other 3 since we only have 3ppl.

TIA :goodvibes

thanks for the great idea, My son would be so excited when I let him use his card and say you can pay.:thumbsup2

With snack credits the only limit to how many you can use depends on how many you actually have left - you could use 37 snack credits at once, if there were that many left on your account.

It is not calculated like CS or TS credits can be, which is intended to limit the meals to the number of people in your room/party.

Thanks for clarifying this.:thumbsup2

Thanks for the tip on the non-charging card. This will be my first time on the dining plan, and I didn't even think about the possibility of them accidentally charging the room!
