Since DS was 11 at the time we also hit the Ripley's Haunted place:eek: and everything else there on the strip:rolleyes:
I don't remember Ripley's Haunted place. It sounds interesting. Of course, it's been way too long since we were in the Smokies.
:(

Browneyes, you don't like the area or just Gatlinburg?

Wonderful pictures shep!!! Looks like a great place to visit :)

Great pics. The girls are adorable. We've never been there but it looks like a great place to visit.

Gatlinburg. Long story.

I think the haunted place is perhaps Ripley's Believe It or Not. It's got a "graveyard" inside.

Ah it's so nice to see pictures of my second home. I've been to the smokey's more times than I can count. I could tell you how to get anywhere and beat the traffic. Been to Clingmans Dome many of times. Such a beautiful place

I've been there several times myself (would NEVER call it home though). It would be funny if we'd been there at the same time.:teeth: I like Clingman's Dome, but it makes my legs nervous to look out at all that open space when you reach the lookout thing.:o

Love the pictures Shep. We are going to be there over Thanksgiving and I can't wait to just sit back and relax.

There wasn't any shortcuts when we were there...
The 'back' way into Pigeon Forge had construction and one lane traffic... so many people..
Best way to avoid all the riff-raff is to stay in Townsend...
Ever been to Ramsey's Cascade's Kyle??
We hope to go there next year..without the girls..:)
We are waterfalls fanatics..:o
Got any secret places we should hear about???

Take plenty of pics..
They should have Christmas lights up...
We've been there during all the season's & the lights are beautiful on the strip...

You are right the Christmas lights are up at Thanksgiving. We go every other year and meet family there. We stay right off the Crafters Loop.

I've been to Ramsey's Cascade but I don't remember it. Been a few years since I've been over to the parks. My sisters teaches in Sevier County and they live right outside of Knoxville in the town Maryville. We used to vacation there all the time then she moved there and my dad was thrilled. I don't know of any secret places in the parks but I know plenty of good places to eat and stay. :) My second fav all time restaurant is in Gatlinburg at a restaurant called the Peddler. Good steaks and salad bar...not cheap though :) Also next time your down check out the fall festival at Dollywood. They have some very cool stuff and exhibits there. And the food is great! Can you tell I like food? :)

I liked The Barn in Pigeon Forge. It sits right off the main drag but is a great place to eat. Very family oriented.

My Dh loves to hike the Smokey Mountains. We have a book and a map of different trails. Have you been to Rainbow Falls yet? I will check with DH to see what other trails he likes.

So that's the beautiful place you were visiting while we were all stuck in the Mall Saturday!! ;)

Nice pictures. Great to see you all again!

Rainbow falls is nice..we walked past it on the way up Mt. LeConte.
Some of our fav's are:
Grotto Falls
Abrams Falls
Laurel Falls
Mingo Falls

We have a waterfalls/cascades book and you'd be amazed at all the places there are that noone knows about..
We hope to someday hike them all..:)

It's a little river that flows in NC. We go by there on our way back home. Lots of people go White Water rafting down

Been there, done that, stung by a yellow jacket but had a great time (I was in college at the time)

I haven't been to Gatlinburg in years. My wife and I actually honeymooned in Chattanooga; we left Gatlinburg for the shoppers - we were tourists!!

Who needs IASW when you have the Fairyland Village in Rock City? :D

Great pictures! I have a friend who goes to Fontana Lake every year around Thanksgiving with her family. Just love those pictures! I want to go.

You were nearby, and you didn't tell me?? hehe. I guess it's just as well...I'm on a crew for a show right now and probably wouldn't have been able to head out there this month anyway. Keep in mind that this is my last school year in East TN! Great pics by the way. :)
