Smoke alarms?

Just wondering if there are smoke alarms in the rooms at POFQ and WL? (The non-smoking rooms - if we get one).

I have quite a fear of fire - well, who wouldn't, but mine reaches nightmare stage sometimes. I'm not so worried about POFQ as the doors open to the outside but WL is so big and with inner hallways etc. I'm hoping there are adequate fire safety procedures and smoke alarms in each room. Anyone know? (Not to start a whole other debate but also the idea of other guests using cooking equipment in their rooms with possibly bad/wrong wiring etc. kinda freaks me out).

Thanks in advance for any info.

All hotels rooms have smoke alarms. I believe it's a requirement - whether it's a state law or building ordinance - I'm not sure. And there's fire safety procedures near the door (usually on the back of the door - inside the room). Some even have a "you are here" dot. For me that helps. I like to know where I am in relation to the evacuation route.
Just familiarize yourself with it and you should be just fine.

All WDW resorts have smoke/fire alarms in each room and a sprinkler system.
Rest easy.
Having been through a serious house fire years ago that caused injuries to several family members I still worry about fire everywhere I go. Even at WDW when I go in an attraction the first thing I look for is fire exits.

Thanks. Yes, it's not something you forget. When I was 6 our neighbours/friends' house caught on fire in the middle of the night. By the time the alarm was raised and fire services got there, their youngest child who was the same age as me, was dead :( I have horrific memories of standing there watching the flames and my Dad running around like crazy trying to help and my mother sobbing in her nightgown. A very sad night indeed.

I'll rest easier knowing about the alarms and sprinkers. Thanks again.
