Hi guys! We returned yesterday from a WONDERful cruise. :goodvibes

On our day at sea (11-27) on the Wonder, the Magic was supposed to be in Castaway Cay. They could not dock at Castaway Cay because they said the winds were too strong. (Didn't seem too windy to us.) Soooooo, the Wonder and Magic caught up with each other and we sailed along side each other for about an hour! There was a battle of the horns at sea! It was fantastic. Someone from the Magic took this video and posted it on youtube! So now we have a pic of ourselves on the Wonder. Take a look - turn on your sound!

P.S. Our day at Castaway Cay was the very next day and it was calm and a great day!! :yay:

That was awesome, glad you had a good time:thumbsup2

I already posted some of it - see post 269 ;). If its ok, I'll give it a go here. :)

Dh and I were on the 4-night Thanksgiving Wonder cruise. It sailed Wed before Thanksgiving and returned last Sun. We drove up (notice I say UP as we are way DOWN in South Florida) to Cocoa Beach the day before the cruise sailed. So, our vacation started on Tuesday 11/24. :teacher:

On the drive up we stopped at the historic Cocoa Village. It was very charming with lots of cutsie shops and restaurants. Then we stopped at an overlook in Cocoa Beach to check out the ocean. After much research, we finally decided on staying our 1 night prior to the cruise at the Radisson, Port Canaveral. It was perfect! Very clean, was a great location, and it met all of our expectations. Everything seemed new to me or maybe had just been re-done. We decided to eat at a restaurant at the port called Fishlips and I am so glad we did. We had the snow crab dinner and it was delish! We watched Royal Caribbean ship, Explorer of the Seas, sail away while we ate dinner.

We did not eat breakfast at the hotel as we ate breakfast across the street at the McDonalds (we walked a very short walk to the light and walked across the street.) After packing up the car, we drove just a few minutes to the port and left the car at the port.

And on the day we sailed, (day before Thanksgiving), people were at the park area at the port waving goodbye to us. Someone on shore yelled "Happy Thanksgiving!" I thought that was so nice of them! Then people on the ship yelled the same thing back to the people on shore. Me too, it was fun! :yay:

Our day at Castaway Cay was the very next day and it was calm and a great day!!

Some rambling thoughts... Everything on the ship was decorated for Christmas. They even had a real/huge gingerbread house on the ship. It smelled great. The food was great, too! The fireworks at sea were fantastic. We did not get off the ship in Nassau as we have been there many times. Most people were off the ship and it was nice to have the Wonder almost to ourselves. We went to a Vacation Club presentation/sales pitch and we won the door prize - $300.00 shipboard credit. (We already had a $50.00 shipboard credit for paying for the cruise with our Disney Visa.) So, we both treated ourselves to massages. That was fantastic, too. We caught 3 movies on the ship: Up, the new 3-D A Christmas Carol, and Old Dogs.

A good time was had by all. The end. :cutie:

on winning the door prize, I like the way you spent it

Sounds like a great cruise, did they have a traditional Thanksgiving dinner? My friend recently went on a cruise (not Disney) and they had what they called free style dining (I think that was what she called it), it's when you can go to dinner anytime you want and you don't have assigned tables, you sit with you own family at your own table. Is that how Disney does it:confused3

Little People and Cake Boss were on.

Getting ready for Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Guy will be in North Pole, Alaska. We've been there - cute little town! :goodvibes

I think they also have a North Pole, NY. It was way upstate NY. We went years ago, not sure if that was the actual name of the town but they had a Santa's Village, it was really cute
