Non-Disney Online Games SmallWorld - New build is online!

Not sure how current this information is, but I found this at the following site:

SmallWorlds is expected to launch commercially in August, at which point they’ll offer upgraded “premium” accounts at $5.95/month; they plan to bring in additional revenue through advertising and virtual item sales.

Ouch! That combined with these stinking arcade games and I think my SW days are almost over.

I agree. I haven't played since I finished the last missions. It's fun when there are missions, but then what is there to do besides talk with friends? I'm not good enough to win the tournaments so there's no way to earn credits. I don't plan to pay that much each for a family of four if there aren't other things to do and earn credits.

Aww, Mint.... The P button is your friend! Phone rings, dog needs out, spouse just can't wait to discuss whatever... P button time.

Enjoy! :)

or an IM popup. ;)

Well, yeah, or that. :rotfl: Anytime, Light. :goodvibes

$6 a month. Not bad imho. Would have paid that for VMK - if only they would have asked.

I'm with you on the arcade games. I'm hoping they will provide addititional ways to earn credits.

But I wonder how necessary a premium account will be? The large rooms are almost a liability because it takes so much furniture to fill them up. I'm "practicing" with the small rooms to find just the right combination of features and items.

I don't take the quote as meaning we will have to pay for basic membership; does it seem that way to anyone else?

A family of four could all fit on one account, but it would probably be worth your while to have a separate free account for each person, in terms of earning power.

I believe it's been said that there will be a free membership and a premium membership.

I'm guessing that we would need a separate account in order for all family members to play at the same time...

the price isnt bad if thats what it is, but I agree it's only worth it if they can keep up with the missions.

I also need ways to earn $$$ and get more home spaces or I will lose interest

just keeping it real SW ;)

This would work if each family member played at their own computer, but you cannot have two SW accounts open on the same computer. (From SW popup messages, I'm guessing that IP addresses may be an issue here. We have a router which assigns separate IPs to our household computers, so I've had no problem with two at once, but can someone with multiple computers on the same IP verify if it works for them?)

We have three computers here and the same IP. We are able to use all computers and be on SW at the same time

What I meant was...one account = 5 characters, right? I have not tried it, but I'm assuming that you cannot sign into your one account and be on 2 different characters on two different computers? Besides, since they share stuff and cannot accumulate tokens separately, it wouldn't pay to do this anyway...

I have not been able to sign onto 2 diff accounts on one computer, but we have logged into multiple computers with the same IP with no problems.

I accidentally created my Mnementh character on my fiance's account, so every now and then, the time comes when we both want to play at the same time on the same account, and we've been able to log onto both characters at the same time on separate computers several times. This comes in handy for missions where you only need two people, such as checkers or pool, so it's not entirely a waste of time (if you're just playing for xp rather than tokens).

the people who are having trouble playing on more than one computer from their household need to read the WONDERFUL guide I made :)

It tells you in it why that happens, and I will even give you the hint that its very early on in the character creation process ;)
