Because boarding is on one side the water and the exit is on the opposite side, boarding for guests with wheelchairs, ECVs and other mobility devices has to be on the 'exit' side.
I was there last week and rode IASM. Basically they swapped the entrance and exit sides. You still take a wheelchair/ECV through the exit.
The only problem I had was getting the attention of the CM doing the loading. They have you stop and wait about halfway down the ramp, just before the final turn. Well I was traveling alone and just before that turn is a divider that's almost at the top of my head in height. The CM had a hard time seeing me to tell me so I had to wave him down.
