Small vent about csection recovery...

I don't really have weird feelings with my C-section scar, but I had my gall bladder out years and years ago (like 20) and I get that weird "phantom" discomfort from time to time. And I still try to scratch it, too.

I don't even like to touch between my gall bladder scar and my waist, because it feels funny to know that someone's (including me) touching it, but not be able to feel it.

Scar tissue is weird.

i also had 3 c-sections so I can sooooooooooo relate....... my last one was over 8 years ago and I still have numb patches on my stomach.....

My scar is still numb from my c-section. Sometimes I will get a weird snapping feeling on the inside. Almost like a piece of elastic snapped on the inside. They don't happen that frequently now, 4 years later. Seems like they diminish over time.

I hated that itching on the inside! But the good news is that it does go away. In fact, I forgot about it until you posted about it!

i had a c-section with DD12, and had a problem with numbness on the outside of my right leg that was so bad, it was painful. if anything touched it, i couldn't help but scream. in my case though, i believe it was the result of nerve damage from a botched epidural before my surgery-needle slipped out of my spine the first time, so the procedure had to be redone. it has improved over time, and i have lost a great deal of weight, which also helped. i know how horrible the numbness can be. i pray you feel better soon, OP.

Another thing is that while the scar tissue is numb on the outside of my skin, it itches on the inside lol. It is driving me nuts! You can't scratch an itch on the inside lol!!

Anyone else have weird side effects due to a c-section lol?

It's been almost 16 years since my last C-section (also my third) and I still can't get used to the numbness and itching. Just this week, I burned my skin with a heating pad because I couldn't feel how hot it was. :scared1:

You're lucky!

I relate. I had 3 c-sections & 2 naturals. My last c-section was 5yrs ago. and I am still numb from my belly button down to the scar. I can pinch it and not feel anything.

I also have to scratch my belly some times because it itches so bad. and there are times there is pain.

My issue is pain and I wish I had more numbness back. (As annoying as it is, I remember and still have it somewhat, I feel for you.) I had 3 c-sections and subsequent surgeries to clean up the scar tisse because endometrosis has attached itself to it. I can no longer wear jeans because when I sit and the thick fabric folds in it hurts so bad. My last surgery was almost 4 years ago and I am getting close to agreeing to another. I feel great for a couple years after each and I'd really like to get out of yoga pants.
Good thing you get such sweet babies out of these surgeries. :) Enjoy yours!

I thought I was the only one with numbness around c-section! It drives me crazy especially when I have an itch!

I don't think the numbness every fully goes away..my aunt had a c-section 23 yrs ago and says she's still numb too lol..

Since I had my mastectomy 27 years ago, I've not been able to feel anything on the back of my upper arm except itching. The bad part is that I cannot feel it when I scratch it. It drives me crazy!

Scar tissue is weird.

I just had my gb out in January and I swear I can feel wear my gb used to be-a very slight pain, nothing bad but I know exactly where it used to be.

I still have a slight numbness and my incision site still feels funny. My C-section was 12 years ago and sometimes I still get a stabbing pain in the incision - does anyone else have this?

I am so glad I read this thread, at least I know I am not the only one. My famil thinks I'm nuts when I say things like this!

I had mine 17 years ago and to this day you can stick a pin in my lower abdomen and I wouldn't feel it. They really did a good job destroying the nerves there.:sad2:

I had 2 c-sections. My youngest is 6, and I still have the numbness around the scar. It's really annoying, and I can't stand for anything to touch it. Ick! The only other thing I have is the "pouch" I can't seem to get rid of.......I'm thin, except for that.

I've had 3 C-Sections. After the first one I had an area on the right side of the incision that stayed numb. It was probably about 1x2. After the 2nd one, the numb area grew just a bit and now, 16 years after the 3rd, it's about the size of a 3x5 card.

I never had any pain though, so after reading this thread, I feel pretty lucky. It's just weird to touch it and not feel it.

People think that a Cesarean is just a simple procedure. If at all possible, babies should be delivered ******lly -- the way nature intended. There are now several reports linking Cesarean births and increases in Autism.

Just because a woman has once Cesarean birth, does not mean that all her children must be delivered by c-section.
