Small SUVs recommedations please!

Another vote for the new Honda CR-V. We've had ours for about three months now. We LOVE it. I don't think I've ever driven a car which gets so much attention.

We recently took it on vacation...two adults, three kids 18, 14, 12 and all our luggage. 29MPG cruising down the interstate doing 80MPH.

You can't go wrong with either a Honda or Toyota....

If you ENJOY driving, go with Honda.

I have the 2006 CR-V and love it! I like the 2006 design over the new design because I like that the spare tire is on the outside on the 2006 so I can use the space under the cargo floor/picnic table for storage (they've now put the spare in this storage space on the 2007 & 2008 models from what I understand). Having my emergency equipment (jumper cables, water, paper towels, glass cleaner, flashlight, first aid kit, etc.) tucked away under the cargo floor means that I can still tote a portable wheelchair, BJs purchases, small furniture, etc. without having to emply out that emergency equipment to make room first. I got the cargo cover for mine so that if I have items in the cargo area and must run other errands, what's in the cargo area is out of site. In addition, the back seats fold up nicely against the front seats to make room for bigger items - I brought home a side table/desk/vanity piece just today.

The ride may be noisier than my DH's sedan, but it isn't enough to cause discomfort and the ride has been comfortable on the numerous trips we've made to NJ and back.

love my Tribute altho I wish the gas mileage was better. It will be paid off(4 year note) next month and I am not even considering trading it. And this coming from someone who regularly traded in after 2 years.

dont know if it is small or medium, but dw has an h3 and loves it. It is about the same as an explorer. We think it is better than the explorer, and she likes it better.

We have a Jeep Patriot and I love it. It gets better gas mileage than many midsize sedans. I think it gets better gas mileage than all other non hybrid SUV's.

Wow! Another Patriot owner - there are not too many of us yet :goodvibes

I love my Patriot and for an SUV it does get great gas mileage.

I also test drove the Mercury Mariner Hybrid (really liked it), Ford Escape (liked it but nothing compared to the Mariner), and the Saturn Vue. I was also looking at the Ford Edge but the $$ was out of the question for us at the time.
