Small problem when making reservation with iPhone app

Just thought I would post about an issue I had while using the iPhone app to make a dining reservation.

Every once in a while (actually quite often) I check on my iPhone to see if there is an opening for BOG on my preferred night. To my amazement, I checked yesterday and one was available at the exact time I wanted. I quickly tapped on the time and I was asked if I wanted to cancel another less important reservation that I had at the same time. I gave the ok to cancel my other reservation, and then the app returned to the original page where I had to again tap on the BOG reservation. Well, I tapped on it and it told me that this time was not available. So apparently, while I cancelled the other reservation, the BOG reservation was taken by someone else. So BOG was gone and my less preferred reservation at the same time was cancelled too! (Luckily I was able to rebook it before someone grabbed that too)

The iPhone app seems to work differently than the Disney web page on my PC. On the web page, making a new reservation and cancelling an old one seems to happen at the same time (I think).

So just a warning when using the iPhone app, there appears to be a small window where someone can grab your new reservation before you finish cancelling an old one. Do it fast!

It let me cancel and simultaneously book the new one on my iPhone. It may have been a glitch, I've experienced and others as well, the res disappears and then reappears an hour later.

So check for it again in about an hour!!

That's surprising, because I've done it several times for other reservations and every time after I gave the ok to cancel my first reservation, it returned me to the page where I have to select the time for the new reservation again. It always seems to be a two step process. But this was the first time that it failed.

It was also the first time that I yelled "Noooooooooooooo!"

Similar thing has happened to me before when trying to cancel one and get a new one. Luckily my new didn't disappear but the screen will lock up. I was just trying to book a new one and I lost it because it was stuck on the input a new credit card page even though I have a valid one tied to my account.

I've had soooo many issues using the app! A lot of times I will search for reservations and it says there are times available but the times never pop up for me to click!

THIS!! Happens to me all the time. I found a way around it, if you do a dining search (where all restaurants and times pop up) you can click on the time and book that way (instead of doing a time search at the specific restaurant - which is when I run into this problem constantly)!!
