Small families and King vs. 2 Double Beds at Values

Trying to find ways to trim the WDW budget...we've been 3x and spent each trip at WL---and loved it! But, for each night we'd stay at a Value, it would cut close to $100 per night off our stay. So, we're looking seriously at Values for the first time.

We're a small family, just DH, DS8 and myself. There are just 2 things that concern me about Values: 1. No interior corridor. I know there's nothing to change that, so I'd just have to get used to the idea.
and 2. Double beds? I don't think DH and I would sleep comfortably in a double bed and DS really spreads out when he sleeps. Does anyone book a King room and everyone can pile in to sleep? Seems like an alternative, but I've not seen it mentioned before!

ALSO, DS seems to really want to stay at ASMo (Fantasia Fan!), but the interiors and reviews of Pop seem so much better. Opinions?

Thanks!

I believe they will only let you book 2 people in a king room (plus an infant under 3 in a crib)....

I have a king bed at home along with a DD8. There is no way in H E double hockey sticks that the three of us are sleeping in the same bed.

I see your only option is going with 2 doubles..... they aren't that small......

I agree with ILOVEWDW2003. We tried to book a King room with two adults (DH and I) and Dniece Jonna (4 years old) and they said NO GO. Occupancy is set at 2 plus an infant in a pak and play. I can understand why you would like to get a King. More room and all, but I don't think they have that many Kings and it's a way of keeping the King requests down.

We're a family of 5 (3 kids) and at our cabin up north we only have one dble bed, and a bunk bed that has a single on top and a dble on the bottom. I've found I have more room if I sleep with my 7 yr old in the dble rather than trying to squeeze in with hubby in the double bed together.

I guess you're right that the best option would be to take turns sharing a double with DS and a bed to oneself the other night!
Thanks!
