Small disappointments

Thought of a new one today. When you go on a trip with your best friend just to find out you have 2 different styles of park going.

I'm going through that now. 7 day trip in September with my best friend and his partner to celebrate their 10th anniversary and his 28th birthday. They don't get in until the last 4 days and there are also 12 other people going. The problem I'm having is the 14 people outside of my fiance and I think you can just show up and do Disney! They don't even know if they are going to eat in the parks or even go to the parks yet. I've had to settle with the fact that 1 day will go with a plan and then we have the 3 (almost 4 really) days by ourselves to do some must dos (FEA, new Soarin, Cali Grill, MNSSHP, maybe ROL, and CRT ) but outside of that we will just plan and be ready to make last minute changes.

Well, we didn't know at the time, but it's 2 people across. Typically if there is a single rider line, the car is 3 across. There are a lot of parties of 2 so they pull from the single for the extra often. However, if there are only 2 seats, it is not as common to need a single rider. Knowing that now I will never do single rider on RnR again.

There are only three single rider lines at WDW, and two are two across (RnR and Everest) and one is three across (Test Track).

Two of the single rider lines seem to help a lot - I think with Test Track because, as you said, it is three across. And Expedition Everest because it isn't marked out front and you have to know how to find it, or ask about it. RnR is the only one that is two across and clearly marked out front. I never hear anyone who says they zipped through it.

We usually wait 15-20 minutes at RnR. It is much better than the posted time for standby.

Well, that would depend what the posted time for standby was, wouldn't it?

True but if posted wait time is 15-20 minutes or even less than 30-45 I don't usually jump in single rider. We use it for when it is more than an hour.

Wow! Large groups are tough enough when everyone IS on the same page. I can't imagine 14 others that just don't have a plan. Wishing you the best. Definitely keep that time for yourselves, and maybe even expand on it. I imagine everyone will have fun at Disney regardless. Cheers.

Oh it is incredibly frustrating. Their 1 must do was BOG and he just said well they don't take large reservations so well see. I got on the phone that night was told about the email to send a reservation request to and then I got a reservation for 16 will little issue. Now i also have 2 reservations for 8 a few minutes apart for the next night since it is the only must do and they can't make up their mind on what night. I feel bad holding the 2 reservations for 8 on a Saturday night because more people could use them (the reservation for 16 would only work for another big party as they hold a few massive party bookings at 4pm each day) but it is his only ask so far.

Eh, don't fret over it.

My camera battery died in the middle of Wishes. I had my phone but the photo quality isn't as good. That was slightly disappointing.

That's not a small disappointment. Were you able to get it remade with the horseradish??
Yeah I went back and asked for it because without that it's just bleh. His response was "Well I DID but I can add MORE if you want". I watched him make the thing. He DID NOT!! Lol. I saw vodka, Worcestershire, and Bloody Mary mix. I realized when I tasted it what he forgot. It was the crappiest Bloody Mary. I usually indulge in 2 but I passed on the second one. :crazy2:

No!!!! That was my favorite cupcake too! I thought I had read somewhere that the Vader cupcake was still the same though, with a chocolate Vader head on top? That must not be correct :(
.
Sadly, it is not the same. the Darth Vader cupcake has a choc/pb flavored buttercream frosting and no chocolate curls.

When you've travelled miles and miles from a cold country and it rains in Florida!

When you go in the emporium and they've changed the whole layout so everything is everywhere and you can't find anything.

Agree with the longest bag checker thing and blue Mickey of doom. Yes it is the same finger! Always when you're in a hurry as well.

When you buy a popcorn and it doesn't taste as good as it used to as the maker has changed (I think?!)

:( That IS a disappointment.

RIP, most favorite cupcake ever :(

When your mom buys the whole family Mickey cake pops as a surprise while the rest of you are riding ToT and you take 2 bites of yours and it loses all structural integrity and falls off the stick BUT then you catch the falling pieces briefly!... only to bobble them and send the remainder crashing to the pavement. I was so sad. I really wanted those little chocolate ears.

Not everything can go as planned ... what are your small disappointments?

With our room booking we were given passes for mini golf. I *love* mini golf and thought that would be a fun thing to do after Epcot closed at 9. But I discovered the passes are only good before 4 pm. I get the idea - pull people out of the parks in the middle of the day - but if you're going to offer something free, don't put restrictions on it.

Every coupon or special offer everywhere has restrictions on it. That's the purpose of having a special offer...to manipulate the customer to use the offer at a certain time or in a certain way.

When you are so looking forward to "The King" cupcake at Pop but it's no longer offered

The mean stares and hateful comments at the bus stop. DH has to use a scooter because he had surgery on his knees and still can't walk much without severe pain
