small cooler with wheels?

I will be traveling solo for the 4th of July and I will need to have a small cooler with me for some meds that I will need during the day. I won't be going back to the resort because the parks are packed on the 4th and I might not get back in so to be sure I have a place to see the fireworks I will stay all day.
I can't carry a small cooler or lunchbox all day because I have lymphedema in one arm from my Cancer and the other a torn rotator cuff injury from years ago. I am restricted with what I can carry, nothing that will cut off circulation or restrict the shoulders. I have always worn one of those dreaded and hated fannypacks and gotten by without problems but need a cooler this trip.
I know I can rent a locker but I don't want to be at one side of the park and fight the crowds to get over to the locker for meds then fight the crowds back to where I was.
I see that now Disney allows coolers and wheeled coolers but I don't want one of those big plastic things.
I found some soft sided wheeled coolers at K-mart and Odd Lots but they are 50 can coolers, way to big for me. I would like maybe a 12 can size, that would be way bigger than I need but I would use it in the future.
Has anyone seen these anywhere?

I have seen back pack coolers at Big Lots for cheap. How a small little lunch box cooler that fit about 6 pack drinks in. I bought these at the Dollar Tree.

I am not 100% sure and I am sure somebody will correct me if I am wrong...but I thought Disney did not allow any type of cooler that needs to be pulled behind you.

Unless things have changed in the last few months, Disney doesn't allow anything on wheels that is pulled behind you--no wagons, no wheeled coolers, etc.

I'm sorry, other than a locker, I don't have any other suggestions for you. I hope you find something that works!

I really think that the first aid station has a refrigerator available for medications. You may want to call guest services and check.

I would definatley give the Disney people a call....they might have something in place (like at Guest Services) that can help you----not sure about a cooler on wheels---they might allow that for meds, but I'd ask first (usually I dont think htey allow that) ---hope you have a great trip!

If Disney won't allow you to bring a cooler with wheels, I would just get a very inexpensive stroller with a large enough basket to fit a smallish soft sided cooler, and push that. You could use it to put your bags in/on if you make any purchases too. Heck, if it is sturdy enough, you may even be able to sit in or on it while waiting for the fireworks! I think you can get one for about $25.00 or so at Wal Mart. That's not much more than the locker rental would cost you. I don't blame you, I wouldn't want to have to trek back and forth to the lockers or to guest services when it's time to take the meds. It sounds like you have some serious health problems, and I would want to limit my walking as much as I could, especially since it will be very crowded and hot on the 4th. I hope you figure out a good way to take care of this and have a great trip!

I don't think the OP can carry a backpack cooler due to her condition. Plus, it would be hotter than Hades carrying one of those things!

Margaret, I think the stroller idea is the best, esp with the torn rotator cuff. The act of dragging a cooler may make it worse. Will you be able to use both arms to push the stroller? It's too bad you don't have more time because I just saw some fanny pack coolers on eBay. I might be worth a trip to Target and Walgreens. That is the kind of thing that they will carry in their Summer section.

Several suggestions, not the least of which is go over to the disABILITIES Forum.

However, they will store medications for you at each Park's First Aid, refrigerating if needed. If they are injectables they will also provide a private area as ell as Sharps disposal.

And another idea is I would suggest going to www.coolerconcept.com and looking at the Frio Cold Packs. There are several people in the disABILITIES forum, myself included, who use them.

These are gel packs that are water activated. They will keep the internal temperature at insulin-safe levels for over 40 hours. As the water evaporates you can just soak it in water for a few minutes to reactivate it. They come in various sizes.

For example, I have a "double wallet". Depending on what I am doing it will hold my Byetta pen as well as either a syringe with insulin in it or two insulin vials. And I tend to do at least five air round trips a year and have never had any problems with TSA over it.

And, as others have mentioned, you are not allowed to have any sort of "drag behind" device in the Parks.

Thank you for the information, I had no idea such a thing exsisted. I will check their site out, not only for myself but as a gift my my BIL.
