Small contract directly with Disney

Ah, I see. So there is no mechanism by which you transfer your other points to the small contract for an 11 month larger booking or anything right ? Lets say I have 50 at Grand Floridian and 200 at Saratoga Springs, I can't get an 11 month rental for 250 pts at Grand Floridian

Not quite the same thing as what you were describing, but what I was able to do in the past (not sure if one can still do today) is to transfer points that I forgot to bank from my small contract to my large contract and MS was kind enough to re-allocate an existing reservation in my large contract to use up the just-transferred soon-to-expire points since both sets of points are now under the same contract. This allowed me to free up points from my larger contract to use for another vacation or to bank.

This is only allowed if 1) the points have the same home resort, or 2) the reservation was made within the 7 month window, or 3) there is still availability for a night during your stay (not counting the room you already have reserved.)

I want to clarify that a transfer can only happen between memberships, not contracts.

What seems to have happened is that they were able to reallocate points around within your membership because they still could book nights at your home resort with non home resort points.

But, there is never a way to book a home resort with non home resort points during the priority period, no matter what someone owns.

Points carry the advantage and not the owner.

Sorry for using the wrong terminology--I did mean memberships rather than contracts. I guess I have always thought of them as contracts that I had acquired at different points in time with different UYs, but the correct way to describe them would be be different memberships with different UYs backed by different signed contracts.

FYI, I believe anything under 50 points direct has to be paid in full, 50 and over they will finance. Congratulations to the OP. Welcome Home.

Has to be paid in cash. You could still pay with a credit card and spread it over 90 days, and if using the Disney credit card, would also get 6 months interest free (which can thus mean 9 months to pay off the final balance). You could thus just do the deposit up front, a small amount at 30 days, a small amount at 60 days, and the balance at 90 days.
