Slowest time of year at WDW?

Cool! See you there Marjol! May is a great time to go. And to help keep your waits down to a minimum, make good use of magic hours, fast passes and timing. I have been there several times, so if you need some tips, please feel free to PM me. There are some definite tricks to getting around.

Thanks :) But I've already learned so much from this forum and Tourguide Mike, so I think we'll be OK :)
Only two more months to go! :goodvibes

I would consider the 1st week of December;the Christmas decorations are in the park; it makes a visit really special. Also, it really isn't bad in terms of crowds. First weeks of Jan/Feb are less crowded, but once you have been there in Dec you will want to go back every year. I've been there many many times at all times of the year. It seems a little empty right after Christmas. I like it when there are some people!!!

Dec!!!!
We were just there the 5-12 and it was perfect, value season and the parks looked amazing decorated for Christmas. Plus at MK you can buy tickets for Mickeys very merry Christmas party......no lines at all.
:santa:

Definately the two weeks right after Thanksgiving !!
This year will be our 4th time to visit the week after Thanksgiving. Waits for rides are seldom more than 15 minutes. We went just last month the week of President's Day and said we'd never go again when it was that busy. Everything was an hour or up to two. We've really been spoiled by the empty parks after Thangsgiving.
Everything is in full swing for the Christmas season, all characters dressed in holiday finest, music and decorations are up.

Value season rates begin this year on Sunday November 25th. I made the mistake last year of booking our trip to arrive on Saturday and paid the standard rates for the length of our stay. Coming in a day later would have saved about $30 a night at ASMu preferred rooms at Calypso.

we've always found the week (starting the weekend after labor day) has always been slowest, with the least crowds - of course, it's also very hot, lots of lovebugs and it rains daily....

It's awesome that my birthday is in January, because it's a slow time of year and also, because I can stay at a Disney Resort for only $59 a night :goodvibes For my 30th birthday trip, I stayed at AllStarMusic from the 20th to the 30th and it was nice and slow :goodvibes It was very cold, but when it's cold that means I wear a Disney Hoody :goodvibes I have a Flower Hoody and I look adorable in that Hoody and I have a Minnie Hoody and I look adorable in that Hoody :goodvibes

I believe September is the slowest month of the year. I have some plans about going to Disney for a week or two in September :) My plans have not taken shape yet, but they are there :goodvibes

Do not go during Pop Warner week in December - last year it was the first week in Dec. They booked 10,000 rooms for kids at Disney and it was horrible.

For years, we always went the first week of December and loved it. This year it was a disaster - kids, unruly kids everywhere - cheerleaders and football players and parents and coaches.

I'll never do it again.

We were there also Feb 10-14 and the UG and TGM said it would be slow...if that was slow I would not want to be there in the busy months...I think we are planning for ther last week of Jan 2008 to hopefully avoid the crowds...:goodvibes

We did the first week in Dec and it was a little busier than I expected, but not terrible. We did the first week of Feb last year and it was pretty slow and then this year we were there Jan 18-25 and it was the best. I highly recommend the last week of January.

i agree, it was my first time and we were there 10-16, and i thought the same. Wow, if this is considered, NOT busy, i can only imagine!!!

So, we are going next year but i think the week after presidents week is for us!

We have booked two different times in September (long story) one from the 1-9 the other from the 27th - oct. 6. When you say week after labor day do you mean labor day Monday and the days following or the sunday after Labor day? Is it crowded on labor day week-end? We have to make a decision soon about which week to keep.

Thanks.

we went Jan 7th-14th this year and it was wonderful! NO crowds until our last day, saturday, when ppl were coming in for MLK w/e. we had minimal to no waits on most things, and only had to get 2-3 fast passes the whole time. the weather was in the low 70's and 80's, it was PERFECT!

we went the 1st week of september and it was great! some rides we just stayed on and rode again. weather wasn't bad either.
