Slower times - is there a match?

Hello! I'm aware that Oct - Dec are busier months for DVC bookings. Is there a time of year that is slower for DVC bookings and lower attendance in general at WDW?

I'm in the Education field and will be able to go the end of Feb/first week of March for our winter break, last week of April for spring break, Christmas week, or the summer. We have been the last week of Sept/first week of Oct, 3rd week of Oct, and the first two weeks of Dec. We do like the cooler months, but I realize that leaves out the summer months.

What would you do in this situation?

Slower is relative but last week of April and August (the later, the better) are good bets.

Likewise, the earlier you go in June you can get a "slower" time as some schools don't let out until mid-June. So if you have a district that lets out in late May and you go as soon as you can, less crowds. If your district starts in early September and you go as late as you can - less crowds. Its relative though.

For your times - that end of February looks like a good spot as long as Easter doesn't hit that early.

If you're trying to book the most efficient rooms, like AKL value or Boardwalk standard, there is no slow time. Or the most extravagant rooms, they tend to have lots of availability. In between, it depends on what kind of room you are booking and luck and how many Covid points are still floating around. We have no idea how many people you are trying to take or what resort you are interested in.

Your Spring Break seems to be much later than most. I did a last minute late April trip and the place was a ghost town.

I prefer to go when the weather is good, and just learned to face the reality that WDW is going to be busy. We've only been going for the last 7 years, but after the last few trips, there just is not a slow time anymore. When it is "slow", WDW is modifying cast staffing and operating hours to save money. I rather go when it's busy, the weather is nice, and the park hours are longer, than when park hours are shorter and they've reduced staffing and ride capacity because its slow. The only benefit these days of going when its "slow" is it's easier to move around the parks.

Our favorite time of year to go is the last week of Feb into the first week of March. You have to watch out if Mardi Gras falls during that time though, as 78% of Louisiana packs up and heads to WDW for the week. We've never had an issue booking DVC for that time period either.

Unfortunately my kids are at the age where I can't just yank them out of school for a week, so our next trip is June 2022. We've done October trips though, so we can deal with the heat.

I second this. We are in So Cal, so going to Florida "for the weather" isn't a selling point for us. We don't mind the cool/overcast weather and occasional windy/rainy day because it means easier reservations, and lower park attendance. Clear sunny skies (and no humidity) always await us at home. I'm also fine with FOA versus F&W at Epcot as I encounter far fewer hot sweaty drunks in February. My birthday (and my sisters) is in March too, so that's a bonus. I also second the Mardi Gras thing (and Easter can fall as early as March 22, so there can be some spring break crowds occasionally). Points charts aren't super awesome, but you gotta give a little somewhere.

End of September into early October is generally quiet, all things considered! Third or fourth week of October into November is the total opposite. We are there for F & W and Halloween and it is busy everywhere.
