I learned today from my one of my IOA Sources that Ripsaw and Blutos will be closing for refurbishment during the slow season. I'm not sure which one will close first (it will be one, then the other), nor how long, but I know that they will be rehabbing soon. This is all the info I have at this time.

Thanks for the info. At least it's getting nearer to the cooler season, so the water rides won't be as enticing as during the Summer.

At least to Floridans like myself :)

What do you guys consider the slow season? Does that start in November after HHN?

Thanks for your insider information!

Slow season starts in September, after Labor Day. October (days), November, and the first 2.5 weeks of December are part of the slow season.

I hope Ripsaw Falls is open when we go in November! It was one ride we didn't get to try this summer, because our DD didn't make the height requirement. I was hoping to do this with DH on our grown up trip, it looks like so much fun! I hope Popeye's is closed in Nov. and not Ripsaw.

I love those rides, but that would be the best time for updates, etc.

Based on Rumors about HHN, I'm guessing that Ripsaw will be rehabbed first, then Blutos. Apparently Blutos will be used for a House again this year.

Tigerlil-By Nov all attractions should be done with rehab, unless otherwise noted.

I called and confirmed ripsaw falls will be closed the whole month of sept. and storm force will only run on weekends. My problem w. this is that it doesn't sound like rehab work is being done, its just let's lower operating costs during the slow season. Another problem I have is anyone who goes to parks in sept. knows that the water rides are still needed, as it is very hot.

Bummer. I am wicked upset Ripsaw Falls will be closed during our visit.

This will be the second time in less than two years that Ripsaw will be closed for a trip of ours  .

I guess that's the price we pay for the empty parks during offseason. I just wish they would alternate the closings a little more consistently.

Also saw on ioacentral.com that Sinbad will start "seasonal" schedule on Sept. 1

I hope that Ripsaw will be open in October - we are having friends in from calif. for their 1st trip to Universal & I don't want them to miss this !!
Plus it's my favorite!!!!
Can the closing dates be narrowed down ?? We will be there from October 10th to the 13th.
Thanks !!!!

My family will be staying at RPR and visiting Universal for the first time during the last week in Sep. I must say that our excitement has been somewhat diminished as we watch the list of closed attractions grow. Wild west show closed, Sinbad show closed, Ripsaw falls closed, Stormforce closed (open on weekends but we won't be there then), Dinosaur discovery center closed, parks closing early. I understand it is off season but this seems a bit much to me.

I am glad that I'm not the only one that feels that way dizzy dad. We booked the trip and it seems like so many attractions are closing or rehabbing at once, and the parks are closing so early. Make no mistake that we were happy to find out that halloween horror nights was going on while we are there, but i'm paying an extra $40 per ticket for this and loosing out on the attractions that i originally payed for. Oh well, such is life, we will have fun anyway, but it seems like an awful lot is closing at once with nothing to replace it.

Agree. I don't know why the parks would be closing attractions in October/November.

What abouit January/February?

Hello?

I talked to someone from Ripsaw today, and got some interesting Info. It seems that Ripsaw may not close in Sept, but Blutos will be closed until (possibly) December, for rehab and due to the HHN house. I'll keep in contact with my Sources and see what changes, if anything...

Purely selfishly, I'd have to say I'd prefer for Bilge-Rat Barges to be closed during September!

Thanks for the info, Dark Marauder. :)

I agree. We are coming over from the Uk end of Sept and hope these rides will be open again. I am absolutely gutted that Kong has gone, I had no idea. That was a bit unexpected wasnt it. Does anyone know why!!
