Slow pace, no thrill ride trip suggestions?

So our vacation has turned into something we were totally not expecting. What was going to be a big family trip last month turned into just me and dh early Jan. Due to an injury, there won't be any type of thrill rides at all, so we're looking for slow paced things to enjoy. We may even rent an ECV if walking too much gets difficult.

So basically...what are your favorite low-key, no impact/G-force experiences?

Hmm. My first thought is Splash Mountain, but maybe the drop will be too much? If that ride is out I think my favorites would be Haunted Mansion, Pirates, Safari (can be a bit bumpy), Little Mermaid, Peter Pan and Living with the Land. There are a number of shows that I really enjoy - Mickey's Philharmagic and Flights of Wonder are very good.

I'm sorry to hear about your injury! But fear not it won't ruin your vacation. Here's a list of the things you should do to things you shouldn't do.

Magic Kingdom : This is a perfect park for what you are looking for. They have tons of Non-Thrill rides that are the best in the industry! Just cross off the three mountains , seven dwarfs and then I think you are good to go!

Epcot: Another great park for your trip! This park is meant to be explored at your own pace! There is only two attractions that I would not recommend: Test Track , Mission Space and maybe soarin' but that your call!

Disney Springs: Great for a nice afternoon or nighttime shopping extravaganza! But maybe DH won't be too fond of that ;)

Animal Kingdom: Like Epcot this park is intricately done and deserves some exploration. Dinosaur and Expedition Everest are a big No-No but the rides are not why you go to AK. The safari might be a little jerky but it's your call.

On-Site Hotels: Even if your not staying onsite go hotel hopping! It's a great way to pass the time and you notice a lot of the signature Disney Details!

Hollywood Studios: The two major rides at HS are thrill and besides that there isn't really a whole lot to do , unless you like star-wars then its heaven.

I hope this list helps you think of stuff to do! I hope you have a very magical vacation :)

MK - COP, Peoplemover, Hall of Presidents (if not closed for refurb), Enchanted Tiki Room, Country Bear Jamboree, Liberty Belle Riverboat, Muppets, FOF parade, and Mickey's Philharmagic.

Epcot - American Adventure, movie in France, movies in China and Canada if the one person not on the ECV doesn't mind standing, boat ride in Mexico, Club Cool, Living with the Land, Nemo, Ellen if still there, Spaceship Earth.

DHS - Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular, Frozen Sing a Long, Great Movie Ride if still there, Fantasmic, Star Wars Launch Bay, Walt One Man's Dream, Muppets.

AK - Flights of Wonder plus the walking trails and Safari if it would not bother you too much.

I was just talking with my wife about this this morning. There is just so much to do there without doing thrill rides. That is the thing I love most about Disney. I don't do thrill rides because of motion sickness, we go to Busch Gardens and I ride 2 rides. We go to Disney and there is so much more that I can do compared to other parks that I really don't feel like I am missing out.
I am not really sure what I could add to the list above though. Not really much of a help, but I almost think it is easier to list what should be avoided.

Awesome suggestions - thank you all SO much! I want dh to have fun :-) I think we'll have a lot to do. We also want to do some resort hopping since we are fairly new DVC members.

I'd like to add that renting an ECV forces you to slow down! (Which is a good thing!) We just got back from a 6 day trip, where my dad rented a scooter each day at the parks.

You can't zig and zag around people as easily, so just go with the flow and enjoy the sights and sounds even more. We discovered so many nooks and crannies in each park and it was so relaxing!

One tip is to bring patience. :) A lot of people don't see scooters until too late (they're looking up) and end up cutting you off or running into you lol.

The scooter made the trip a whole different experience, but it was enjoyable and we saw Disney in a new way.

there is so much so I will tell you what rides not to do

MK
space
splash
7DMT
tea cups ( maybe)
pirates

EPCOT
TT
frozen ever after

HS
RMR
TOT

AK EE

Meet & Greets and being silly
Dumbo, Triceratopspin, Magic Carpets, Astro Orbiter
People Mover
All of the shows, which we never have time to see but 1 or 2. Take time to enjoy the street performances instead of rushing to the next ride.
Leisurely dining
Grabbing a snack and a plum spot for the 3 o'clock parade. It will give you time to check out the Times Guide and talk about the afternoon/evening plans while resting from a the morning.
Sorcerer's of the Magic Kingdom game or Agent P's in EPCOT
Affection Station, along with the other recommendations, at AK

Sounds like a restful WDW vacation, for a change ;)

DW and I don't do "thrill" rides and we always have plenty to do. I think you have been given plenty of good suggestions. And I will add my recommendation for Soarin'. Very gentle. And don't forget to ride the trains in MK and AK.

We do the Safari though it is close to being too "jerky". If you are using the scooter, ask for the handicap truck. My sense after riding the handicap truck once as a "fill in" and once with my mother is that the driver takes it easier.

And for us there is just the thrill of wandering around the parks and enjoying the theming and the landscaping. Finding a bench and just sitting. Maybe with your favorite treat. I am a Mickey Bar fan myself. Another favorite place for us is lunch at the Flame Tree BBQ. Take your food to the lower patio down near the water with Everest on the other side of the lake. Add in touring the resorts and you'll be busy. Time will fly by.

Wishing you a magical trip!

Kilimanjaro Safaris at Animal Kingdom carries the following caution: "WARNING! For safety, you should be in good health and free from high blood pressure, heart, back or neck problems, motion sickness, or other conditions that could be aggravated by this adventure. Expectant mothers should not ride."

I can definitely see how someone with a bad back or neck will find this ride too jerky. They've paved the roads with potholes, bumps, and rough terrain on purpose to give the feeling of a real expedition.

Flights of Wonder may be the most underrated show at WDW. We also love Festival of the Lion King. Monorail Strolls. Nighttime entertainment on the Boardwalk.

My family loves it, too. It's the one show at AK that we all agree we must see on our upcoming, and third visit.

Thank you all SO much for your great suggestions! I'm really looking forward to a slow-paced trip. It's going to be lots of fun...and plenty of hot tub time!

Just noticed your countdown ticker: 1 week and 4 days to the BWV. Wonderful! The Boardwalk is our favorite resort. A wonderful location for an adult trip. We loved to take slow evening walks over to the World Showcase. Then walk back and enjoy the nightlife on the Boardwalk.

Wishing you a magical trip!

I'd start with the hot tub (if you're staying at a Duluxe resort). Then maybe a couple cocktails at the poolside bar. Follow it up with some chocolates and a little Barry White music back in the room, and just see where the night goes...

The little lady never does thrill rides. But we do dine at the finer restaurants. We also do character meals. Take a behind the scenes tour. We've done the pirates fireworks cruise and that was fun. We see more of the shows. Love Beauty and the Beast. We sit on a curb a little sooner than most to get a good spot for a parade. And while we are not big meet and greet people, if you are, here's a great opportunity to take advantage of the extra time that will you free up by not waiting in the longer thrill ride lines. And there's always the entertainment on the Boardwalk or Disney Springs. Hope your trip goes well and any injuries don't keep you from having a good time. My wife had knee surgery a week before one of our visits and spent most of her time in a wheel chair but it was still one of our best vacations.

I just enjoyed this very kind of trip with my friend. She has a degenerative disease in her knees so walking is out. We stayed at the Beach Club so with an ECV it was easy access to Epcot and all of the Boardwalk. FUN!

We decided to concentrate on visiting restaurnats and lounges that we either had enjoyed previously, or that neither of us had experienced, so we used the parks as our destination, the attractions as secondary, to visit along the way. This was a new way for me to experience the parks!

We enjoyed entertainment in the WS when we were in Epcot, stopped for cocktails and snacks along the way.

DAK was a total surprise for us! We went to The Lion King show, and Its tough to be a bug (my DGD hates it so I never go when I am with famiy) The safari and then a late leisurely lunch at Tiffins. End up relaxing at Nomads lounge til the Tree wakes up. This was my favorite day. Tiffins is like an art gallery, and allows you to travel along with the Imagineers as they planned this magnificent park. Magical!

In the MK I would do as others have suggested. You could see if you can get an ADR to Skipper Canteen. Normally a meal is in between attractions, but we dined instead of "had dinner". WE were in BOG, but my DD and her family loved SC. It was an experience for them.

Or do a monorail crawl and explore the resorts. We did this for Christmas Decorations, but if they are removed when you go, so what? I would leave the MK and then travel teh monorail, stopping at each resort to explore, and relax. The Grand is amazing, with afternoon and evening entertainment. So many spots to relax and take it in.

The Boardwalk resorts offer so much for entertainment as well. My new favorite lounge is Abracadabar. Fun! The Boardwalk at night is beautiful, plenty to see and lovely just to stroll. You could head to the Swolphin too.

I would not plan this kind of trip often, but honestly I returned home to a workload that was crazy, and to completing CHristmas shopping and cooking, yet I was incredibly relaxed and stress free. Because we removed most of teh "must do" attractions that my family normally enjoyed, and we concentrated on just a few of those while we enjoyed all that was around us, the experience was so different.

WE never made it to DHS, but I would plan the same way.
Have fun!!!
