Slow in May

Just wanted to say that it must be slow at the beginning of May, or no one is making ADR's. I changed all my ADR's on Friday for the first week of may and got every place at the exact time I asked for, for a table of 6 people.

I'm glad you got what you wanted! We're arriving on the 5th and I've tried to change a few of mine in the last week and can't get anything I want!

I agree with the OP!! We just booked for 5/14-5/20 about 10 days ago and I got everything I wanted (including Le Cellier dinner)

WOW!!! I wish I would have had that luck. We are having a hard time getting anything for our last minute may 2-5 trip.

We had no trouble for our May 4-14th trip. I had to change times at only a few places, and then it was by 5-10 minutes.

Here's hoping - I do hate the *huge* crowds!!!

If it's anything like last May it will be perfect :goodvibes

I found the crowds to be less than the first 2 weeks of December 2006 and 2007! All restaurants were full in December, in May the restaurants were not so busy, in fact, we were able to alter our ADRs on the day or the day before a number of times during our stay.

We went twice to Yacht Club Galley for dinner, the first time we were one of 3 tables there at 7.00 pm, the second time, one of 10 tables. In December the place was full to capacity.

It was wonderful, so much nicer.

I moved my Yachtman's steakhouse ADR (3 people) up from 8 p.m. to 7 p.m. on May 29 with no problems just a few days ago. While we were there the same time last year (May 27 - June 2) my dd12 got sick when we were supposed to do CP lunch one day and we decided to just sleep in for the morning into early afternoon. I called CP to cancel and see if we could get in there for another time and CM was able to get me a breakfast for 8'ish on the morning we left. (didn't have to leave until noon). So I'm guessing that all restaurants aren't completely booked during that time.

And if my memory serves me correct, I didn't book until mid February last year and then called for my ADR's after that by a few days (had not found the DIS at this time) and was able to eat at Le Cellier, Coral Reef, Chef Mickey's, Boma and Ohana (DP for 2) between 5 and 6 p.m. every night. So I only booked out about 3 1/2 months in advance as opposed to the 6 months I did this time! And we enjoyed every minute we were there. Well, except when DD12 was sick that morning. Poor baby.

Argg! I keep having problems! I want to get an adr for 'ohana on Tuesday the 13th and the earliest they have is for 9:10. That would be fine with me, but my family wants to eat earlier. I am also locked out of CA Grille. I was able to it for 5:30 on Mayday the 12th, but not an ideal day for us. I am wondering if I am having this problem because we are a party of five? Maybe I should try party of six? Maybe that would help. We are not in bad shape at all though. I was actually able to get tutto itallia for 6:00 on Mother's Day just last week, so I guess I can't complain too much!

I haven't had any trouble with ours, except I was really looking for Chef Mickey on Mother's day for an early dinner and can't get anything earlier than 9pm (way too late for us!)

I also hope that May is slow. Like the OP I also had no problem last week making ADR's for our dining plans. Now it might have helped that I was only booking for 2.

Yay! I hope its slow. DH and I are going for 2.5 days only. We were able to get California Grill for Saturday night but couldn't get Le Cellier for Friday night when we were in Epcot. I think every other Epcot restaurant still had some availability. We do have a small party though so it might be a tad easier for us.

Chef Mickey's is pretty much completely booked for breakfast and dinner the 2nd week of May.

not much available for dinner 5/2 - 5/6. I keep calling back to see if something opens up but nothing!

Oh man! This thread is making me nervous! I have not booked anything yet :( And we go from May 5-12th.... Am I going to regret it when we are there. We are not schedule ppl though! So it would be so hard for me to book stuff! I think I should have already booked for mothers day though! any suggestions for a nice dinner for MD?
