slow cooker/crock pot recipes needed...a place to post, but not stew!

The only thing I do in a slow cooker is a roastbeef. gerat for sandwiches. But go on the food network.com I get great recipes off there all the time. :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

You can make lasagna in a slow cooker! Cook the noodles first (maybe before you leave home) so they're soft enough to shape. Layer them with sauce, meat, different cheeses, etc. Then cook on low for a few hours! Make sure you have enough sauce so that it doesn't burn. :)

you can put a whole (small) chicken in there in the am, and it falls off the bone by dinner time.....I do the same with pork chops or a small pork roast, cut in half, then make some gravy or something (packaged McCormick gravy is what we like best--add water, boil, done) to top it off....open a can of veggies and Viola, our "usual" crazy-day dinner. You can also buy frozen meatballs, cover with sauce, and cook all day, boil some noodles at dinner time.

You can cook anything in a crock pot. The "Fix it and Forget it" cookbook has a ton of ideas. You should be able to buy it at wal-mart. Good Luck :stir: :stir: :stir:
Oh, use crock pot liners

This is delicious, and simple.....

Beef tips
1 can golden mushroom soup
1 can french onion soup

Place in crock pot, on low for 8 hours or high for 5-6.

Serve over noodles or rice-so amazing!

Chicken and Veggies in Mushroom Wine Sauce

EASY and the kids love it too! [recipe for 4-5 people]

Place a full bag of your favorite frozen veggies in the pot first. [if you are camping and can't use frozen food, canned and fresh work too ~ the more variety of veggies the better]. Pour in two cans of cream of mushroom soup and 2 cups-ish of white wine. [the alcohol cooks off]. Mix up well with veggies. Place 4-6 boneless, skinless chicken breasts on top of veggies ~ close to the sides of the pot. Spoon some of the wine/soup mixture over the chicken to coat. YUMMY!

8ish hours on low
4ish hours on high

This is my fav crock pot recipe! It's delish! Sandra

You don't need to pre-cook your noodles!!!
Just buy Barilla pre cooked lasagne noodles and your all set! :Pinkbounc

i use it all the time (at home and while camping) and stew is just one of the many things i cook in there.

this week we crock potted it twice. (a must for a working mom, much less one who has to run critters to scouts and baseball practice.)

monday night we had mexican chicken (froz chix breasts, large jar salsa, uncooked rice - as much spice as you like and a little bit of water or chic broth if salsa is pretty thick. OR skip the rice and shred the chic when cooked and end up with a killer meal/dip to eat with corn chips!) top with some cheese before you eat.

tonight we are having BBQ pork sammies (froz pork roast, dry rub, BBQ sauce. falls appart by the time we get home. great on rolls.)

happy cooking.

Ok, help me out.

This is what I have in the house:
a roast beef
some frozen veggies (honestly, no idea what except broccoli & spinach)
onions
beef broth
chicken broth
various kinds of canned tomato products
cream of mushroom soup
canned mushrooms
canned potatoes

not too much else, LOL! We are cleaning out the fridge & freezer a bit before our vacation.

What is the best way to cook some of this stuff in the crock pot?

thanks!

Sausage and peppers are awesome in it!!!!!!!

I cook pot roast in the crockpot by adding a package of onion soup mix, a can of beef broth- and if we want gravy I also add a can of cream of mushroom soup. If you don't add the mushroom soup, you can add barbeque sauce to the leftover meat and make barbeque sandwiches. This way you'll have 2 meals. We did this when at FW. It was great to have 2 meals taken care of with so little time and effort, and both are delicious. :thumbsup2
