When you order a steak, how do you like it prepared?

I like mine to be medium - Yum!! :teeth:

I like mine medium slightly leaning towards medium well.

Depending on the steak, I'll order anywhere from medium-rare to medium-well. When I get the medium-rare steaks, it tends to gross out DH...as well as any friends who happen to be with us :crazy2: . What can I say...I likes what I likes. :woohoo:

Extra well done! Actually, I like everything cooked well done. :thumbsup2

Same here. Well done or burnt on just about everything.

I prefer mine medium. When I was younger I wanted it well done...but you might as well feed me shoe leather now if you do that. Nothing like a nice juicy steak cooked out on the grill.

Im medium, I hate that, I wanted to be different

As rare as I can get it.
My wife swears when I cook it at home, she can still hear the "Moo" when it hits the table.

Very hot cast iron pan (ash forming on it), thick steak, on each side for 30 seconds. Rare!

They usually can't do this in any place other than a first class steakhouse, so I tell them I don't want the middle warm at all.

I always order my steak (and cook my own) medium-rare to medium. I think it's a protest to how I was raised; my parents both liked their steaks well-done. Very well-done. EXTREMELY well-done. As in burnt to a crisp! I was 14 before I knew that steak wasn't supposed to be crunchy! :lmao:

I'm a medium-well girl here. I really like medium, but very few restaurants get "medium" right--it's usually still too rare for me. So medium well is what I choose.

Medium Rare, or 'still mooing', lol. At Outback, since they seem to cook under, I'll order Medium and get my Medium Rare.

Yay, I get steak tomorrow. At a local steak chain, you get a free bottle of wine for your b'day, of course that's where I wanted to celebrate!

Medium-rare for me. I used to want everything well done until I did a marketing tour with my brother a few summers ago, promoting 17 different products including McCormick's Grill Mates, Tyson chicken and pork, beef, and Cattlemen's BBQ sauces. That was when I discovered how much better a medium-rare steak grilled properly tastes!

Mmmm, I love meat.

I always ask for medium, but I like it rare to well so medium gives them plenty of room to make me happy. Every so often I'll be in the mood for more one way or the other, but as long as it's a good piece of meat I'm usually happy as long as it's not too rare or too well done.

What I'm more particular about is the seasoning. I really like the natural flavor of beef (and other meats) and prefer not to have sauce or heavy flavoring added. A little seasoning is okay, but if it masks the natural flavor it ruins the meat.

Well done for me, don't want to see any blood.
