You're so brave to be so forthright with your struggles.
I have a hard time not being straight forward about what I did to myself. The afterwards of addiction is not talked about nearly enough - so many people struggle with it, and with the post-addiction trauma, and they struggle in silence. It is a giant cause of people going BACK to addiction.

I have had SOOOOOO many people in my life reach out to me since I got sober - here, in real life, on Facebook. Just looking for a quick shoulder or an ear that understands. All because I am honest about all my stuff. If I can be a quick respite for someone, or even just a "hey, I am not alone" type moment - I feel like my struggles are not in vain.

Sorry for the weird tangent, all. :)

Wonderful, MN. Keep it going, for yourself, and the others you touch.

Nothing on the bed except my pillows all Summer, because the central A/C doesn't reach the upstairs and I only have a fan blowing on me. In Winter, just a comforter. I don't like top sheets; they get all wrinkled around my feet. My comforter has to be perfectly straight and not bunched up, too. The heat doesn't reach up to the second floor either, but I don't mind because I actually prefer a cold room.

Depends on the time of year and the temperature inside ( & outside) of our home. The main bedroom is over the garage so it is colder in the winter and hotter in the summer than the others. In the summer usually a sheet and light weight blanket .If the AC is really cranking the comforter may come up halfway . In the winter 2 blankets , the comforter and maybe one more blanket on top of the comforter.

Top and bottom sheets (must be crisp cotton percale) and a down comforter in a duvet cover. All year round. In the summer we tend to push it into the middle and just sleep under the sheet and in the winter we snuggle it right up under our chins. For me it’s always feet out, arms in, and my DH is just the opposite. To combat cover-hogging we use a king-size comforter on our queen-size bed and it works perfectly! :goodvibes
We have the top sheet, then two throws (different colors ) one on each side of bed, then king size comforter on top. Same with the cover hogging. Sometimes I'm freezing and over DH side the blankets are puddled on the floor. At least with the throws, I have a fighting chance of keeping something on my side.

The too-large comforter was a tip I read in GoodHousekeeping magazine, as a new bride. Since DH and I have never been sleep-touchers and each keep to our own side, it's perfect to each have an extra foot or so of surplus quilt to work with. :teeth:

I like to use a flannel sheet to serve as both top sheet and blanket, and oversized is the way to go with that, too. It just seems like more fabric is needed on the sides.

So we use regular cotton percale bottom sheet, flannel top sheet, and then for summer a light cotton quilt, too. Winter a light down comforter replaces the quilt.
