Sleep….something many of us feel they don’t get enough of. If you’re wondering how much sleep we should be getting, here ya go……

So let’s examine our sleep amounts today and if we’re feeling rested. Give us your 💤💤💤 answer today…..

On average….how many hours of sleep do you get every night?
Do you feel rested?
(multiple choice)

For Me…….On average I get about 6 1/2 hours of sleep. I go to bed around 9:30pm, I read until about 10pm, I get up around 4:30am (on my own), my alarm rings at 5am and I get up a few minutes after. Do I feel rested - somewhat, but I don’t want to go to bed earlier than 9:30pm to feel totally rested. I’m busy doing things around the house after dinner and finally sit down to watch TV around 8:30pm. I’m not going to let chores accumulate just so I can go to bed earlier. If I have to get up earlier than 5am, then I will go to bed at 9pm the night before.

I go to bed around midnight I get up about 5:30 I’m lucky if I fall asleep after I go to bed within 30 minutes that’s a good night some nice it takes longer I’m lucky if I sleep all night a lot of nights I wake up an hour later
Do I feel rested ? no I’ve had issues sleeping since I was a little kid I’ve tried all kinds of things they work for a little bit and then they quit quite frankly I give up I think that’s just the way it’s gonna be

Sometimes on the weekends I do take a nap But sometimes when I do that then I can’t sleep when I go to bed later It’s a vicious cycle

I get 5-6 hours. I often work or read in the evenings until about 11 or so, but I am always awake before 6am. If I go to sleep earlier, I wake up earlier. Every once in awhile I get on a jag of waking up between 3 and 4am, and that's it, I'm awake. The "rule" is I have to try to fall asleep again, but if I'm awake for an hour, I'll get up, go downstairs, and read or grade something until the coffee is ready at 6am (yes, I make a Keurig before that!).

I get 6-6 1/2 hours a night. I do not feel rested.
I wake up a lot during the night.

Sorry, it is only six hours most nights. Gotta get up and get to work. Take the DC Metro most days, but have to drive on Mondays and Fridays since I change lodgings on the weekends. I do manage 8 hours on Sat and Sun.

I answered 6-7 hours and that I do feel rested each day.

I have an unusual sleeping pattern. I have season tickets to my local minor league baseball team so during baseball season it is more normalized but during the offseason I go to bed between 7:00 and 8:00 and then wake up usually by Midnight. I’ll be awake for a few hours, get some things done, and then get a 1-2 hour nap in before I start my day. I find that this helps me wake up refreshed and ready to go.

6-7 of actual sleep time. I'm in bed longer but my Fitbit says I'm in 'wake time' usually about 45 minutes a night. I'm not aware of that wake time, but I guess I am.

ETA.... And yes, I generally feel rested 'enough'.

I aim for 7-8, but usually end up at 5-6. My FitBit doesn't count my time awake, so it's actually pure sleep time being recorded, even if I'm in bed for 8-9 hours.

I’m still getting the same amt of sleep I’ve gotten most of my life excepting of course during my teens when it was longer. The difference now is it’s in blocks of time. First sleep is about 4-5 hours, then I get up to play word games and catch up on current events. Go back to sleep for 2 to 3 hours to do my exercise routine and finally I’m up for the day.

I would love to have 7-8 hours of sleep, but I've had insomnia issues for years. So, my actual sleep is 4-5 hours. Forced menopause with the lovely hot flashes have been hell for what little sleep I get.

I am not getting nearly enough. In fact, it's the only factor in my health changes that could really use some major attention but I hate going on meds. My body never responds exactly as they say it should so I prefer trying to go without unless it's something involving an infection. I know it's age related changes, but I'm lucky if I get 4-5 hours and it's rare that I sleep straight through.

You didn't have 8 exactly, so I voted 7 to 8. I pretty much sleep 10 PM to 6 AM every day, almost without fail unless I get up early, so it's generally a solid 8, but maybe slightly below.

I sleep only because I have to. It's such a waste of time. I am a very light sleeper and wake up often during the night. I average 6 hours per night.

I am so blessed to get a good 7 hours+ of sleep a night. I well remember how horrible insomnia was. Sweet dreams and easy peaceful sleep to all. Wishing each of you a great Tuesday today as well :)
