Ah AKA Forced Family Fun Time-lol that is what my girlfriend calls it. We play all kinds of games Bingo, Pictionary, dice games, Horse race, Saran wrap Ball.

We sometimes play games during holiday celebrations. It used to mainly be board games, but lately things like Rummy Cube and Five Crowns have been popular.

The weekend before Xmas our elves always setup “the elf Olympics”. It’s a series of games/activities that the whole family competes in and there are prizes (brought by the elves of course). In the past we’ve had reindeer antler ring toss, see who can wrap the fastest, throw “snow balls” to knock down snow men, cookie decorating contests, pin the nose on Rudolph, use candy canes to pick up things etc. There’s usually 5-6 games per “Olympics” and this is something even our jaded older teens look forward to lol. It’s hard to try to think of new games each year though, but it’s fun.
That sounds way cool! Enjoy. :santa:

We host a Christmas Eve party for my extended family. There are 16 of us and it's all about the games. We sometimes repeat favorite games, but I always come up with some new ones. Last year I discovered the "The Benson Brothers Games" and got some awesome ideas. Our group ranges in age from 6-81 and everyone participates. one

One thing that always warms my heart is that my adult niece and nephew (age 37 and 38) have never missed a Christmas Eve at our house (not counting the Covid year!) and the main reason for that is because we have so much fun playing games and having silly competitions. We have a Yankee Swap too, but it's the games that keeps everyone coming back!

We host Christmas Eve and have up to 20 or so people.

We play left right center dice game --$3 entry each round. Winner takes the pot.

We also do a dirty Santa game for those 18 and up. Everyone brings a $25-$30 gift.

Between opening gifts, fixing, eating and cleaning up after dinner, we never have had time for anything else.

We used to play a lot of board games on Christmas Eve before we had grandkids — Trivial Pursuit, Pictionary…a few others. Our grown kids used to make up their own Pictionary words and phrases for us. That was pretty funny. We played Charades a few times. But with little kids in the mix there’s no way to do that anymore. Maybe when they’re older.

Btw…there’s a Christmas version of Old Maid. I play that with six-year-old DGD and she loves it. 😊

We sometimes play games, like card games or dominos... I would rather hang out and talk on the actual day so that my brain doesn't have to function. :rotfl2:

No Christmas-themed games, but usually some sort of game, card game or something not too complicated/competitive-Scattergories, Deer in the Headlights, Just One, Phase 10, etc. . We are almost always with DH's parents, and they love games. Kids used to enjoy them a lot more, but not as much, but we still usually manage to play a few.
We just got a game that we played on our last Disney Trip: Worst Case Scenario, where each player gets cards w various, crazy, terrible scenarios, and the player ranks them, then the other players guess/try to match the ranking order of that player. it's fun.
Just One is a good one, for non competitive fun.
