I’m going to go out on a limb and say that more people are going to not like these that do like these. My DH for one, is big no way :sad2: 👎🏻👎🏻, and since he wasn’t home is exactly why I had them for dinner last night. I’ve always enjoyed having Fish Sticks with Kraft Mac & Cheese for dinner. I know, I know, there’s nothing very good for you in this dinner, but it’s still better than eating fast food. As I was sitting there eating my very yummy dinner, I was wondering if you all are like me or like my DH. Give us your fishy good answer today….

What is your opinion of fish sticks?
If you eat them, are they frozen or homemade?
(multiple choice)

For Me…..As I mentioned above I like them 🙂👍🏻. I can’t say I love them, because I wouldn’t be devastated if I couldn’t have then anymore, like I would be if I couldn’t have peanut butter anymore. When I eat them, they are frozen - the picture below is what I ate last night.

I haven't bought frozen fish sticks recently. It seems like you get more breading than fish. But I've eaten them many times.

I ate them a lot while in high school when I had lunch at my BFF's house but haven't since.

We used to have fish sticks for school lunch every other week when I was in elementary school in the 60s- and I loved them. The Catholic church had a ban on eating fish on Fridays, so the school served either fish sticks or tuna salad rolls. I always liked fish sticks, but the fish sticks of my childhood were vastly different from the ones I served the LittleGuy this summer. Our food supply has really gone off the rails. However, I thought they were just OK, and he loved them!

When my uncle was alive, he was the main cook and made fish sticks often. I found them just edible, nothing special and not really flavorful. When he passed and I took over the family meals, everyone in the house begged me to never make fish sticks again. Turns out we all hated them but ate them out of respect. It's been five years that we are fish stick free.

I prefer to buy fillets and coat them with panko and seasonings and fry them. Not the healthiest, but neither were the fish sticks. :p

We eat fresh fish, but not fish sticks. I'm not a big fan to be honest, although I served them one Christmas Eve (I still can't believe that I had to do that! :duck: ) because the menu was seafood but the ONLY seafood my BIL will eat is fish sticks!

I love fish sticks and buy the ones made with actual pieces of fish rather than chopped up fish. Seafood is my favorite protein but unfortunately I live in the desert and the fishmonger thinks that his three-day-old "fresh" fish is just fine. Sorry but that is not acceptable to me, so I am forced to buy frozen fish. We do have one store that gets in truly fresh fish, but their prices are mind-boggling. I grew up in Miami, and Mom and I would go down to the docks and wait for the fishermen to come in with their catch of the day. So delicious.

I don’t think I have ever had them. I do not remember eating them as a child (we did eat a lot of seafood when I was a kid) and I’ve never had them as an adult.

So, I really enjoy some fish sticks and we have some of the Costco ones noted by @Dan Murphy sitting in our chest freezer at this very moment. I have not been eating them because it's hard to work them into my standard caloric range these days, but I'm really thinking about baking or air frying a bunch, adding them to some low cal carb friendly tortillas, making a healthier slaw with Greek yogurt and some seasoning and having some fish tacos with them. Yeah...not quite eating them in fish stick form but it would really hit the spot!

Nope - not a chance. I do not like fish at all. Shrimp is the only thing I eat that is seafood. I remember having fish sticks in school exactly once and said never ever again.

My answer: I don't like them, anymore. I ate enough of them as a kid though. Meatless Friday night dinners didn't have many options! I never buy them!

Our kids loved them. Now we buy the fillets instead of the fish sticks. I also buy a lot of surimi which is really just a fish stick without brea

I think I may have enjoyed them as a kid, wouldn't care to try them now. I do love fried fish, but this seems like something different;)

Try thawing your frozen fish in milk in the fridge, discarding the milk after the fish is thawed. It takes away much of the "I was frozen" taste.
