I was too busy to answer yesterday.
Made dinner for 13 , half them DGKs, 18 and younger. After turkey, stuffing, potatoes, corn, green bean casserole , gravy , pancit (made by DIL) and rolls, plus cake, cookies, pie (bought) ice cream at 2 pm. DGS asked when are we having dinner at 6 pm. I didn't want to take everything out again, so I made a batch of grilled cheese sandwiches.
All 6 kids plus 2 parents slept over. One bedroom had a twin, set of twin bunkbed and an air mattress. The unlucky college kid home for weekend, got to spend quality time in that room with her siblings and cousins.
Knowing I'd need the big frying pans for breakfast I tried to pull out the drawer under oven. Jammed. Spent good 20 mins, open, close, open , jiggle, open, get two fingers in, jiggles, open four inches. Finally got it open. Guess pans shifted with the kids running about.
This morning made cheesie eggs, fried eggs, bacon, hash browns, sausage links, toast and banana muffins( homemade stashed in the freezer) for 10.
We decided no turkey for Christmas. "Only" ham, lasagna, bag of chicken nuggets and a few sides. Too much craziness with having to wait for a turkey to get done. I don't mind serving cold food, but not undercooked food. I have my standards.
Tomorrow I sleep.
