I only rarely buy bananas. (I think, for me, there's a "ripeness window" where they're good and I don't like them if they're not in the window... and I think the window lasts about 3 hours! :P )

But when I do buy them, I usually buy regular because they are cheaper and you peel off the outside anyway.

I buy regular. Bananas aren’t a staple in my house, 95% of the time they are used for banana bread because no one eats them.

I don't eat fresh fruit but I like banana flavored foods like cream pie:-)

Sorry for the double post. New device!

Neither DH or I eat them. I do pick them up at the Store sometimes for my Mom and get regular.

Doesn't matter to me what kind. I make a fruit smoothie for lunch every day that I share with my son, so we go through them quickly. We buy whatever is available as a result of this.

We only buy regular bananas. Not sure with bananas but a former co-worker's family grows apples in Washington state. Everything they grow meets the legal standard to be organic. They fill distributor orders with the same apples from the same trees. The organic ones get an label that says organic and they sell them for more. The regular ones get a regular label and sell for less.

Like the OP, I've also noticed that the organic ones seem to stay yellow longer than the regular ones. Not sure if that's reality or just my perception, but for whatever reason, the regular ones we buy tend to brown faster, so I pay a little more most of the time and get the organic.

Organic because they can be eaten that week. Non-organic are completely green and won't be ready to eat until the end of the week which then you only have 1 day to eat them because they'll be rotten the following day.
