I love corned beef but hate the cabbage.
I'm not a huge fan of cabbage, but it occurs to me that there may be a way to cook it such that is isn't just soggy, gooey stuff. This is one of those cases where I say "I don't really like _______" but if it were prepared by a top-notch chef it could be really tasty. Mushy cooked cabbage doesn't have a great deal of appeal to me.Can we get 10 pages out slo's poll from yesterday?

I have a question. Are you able to think of any other Saint (any religion accepted), who is referred to by a nickname or shortened form of name? I can’t think of any, so I am curious as to why poor St Patrick is insulted in this way.If I want to call it St. Pat’s Day, I will call it St. Pat’s Day.

I think St. Pat is fine, St. paddy is fine, St. Patty is not.I have a question. Are you able to think of any other Saint (any religion accepted), who is referred to by a nickname or shortened form of name? I can’t think of any, so I am curious as to why poor St Patrick is insulted in this way.![]()
Your reasoning?I think St. Pat is fine, St. paddy is fine, St. Patty is not.
My two went to St Raymond's elementary, known as Ray's, St. Viator's HS, known as Viator's.My DD went to St. Joe’s school in my town.
I currently go to St. Mike’s
My in-laws go to St. Tom’s
I used to go to SMG (Saint Maria Goretti)
Because we shorten nicknames of some saints here (very catholic area), Saint paddy’s is used as often as Saint Patrick’s, Pat and Paddy are nicknames for Patrick, Patty is not.Your reasoning?
