Good Monday Morning - it’s the start of a new week

Are you a lake person or an ocean person?
Does it matter which lake or ocean?
(multiple choice)

For Me……I‘m a 75% ocean person and 25% lake person - I love the ocean. I love the shells, the type of birds by the ocean, the dolphins, and just the overall vibe the ocean gives off. The only lake I’m ok with swimming in is Lake Michigan (It’s 30 minutes away from me and I’m sure I’d be ok with other really large lakes), but when it comes to small lakes - no thank you - sorry lake DISers. I’ll enjoy sitting by a small lake or boating on a small lake, but I’m not swimming in it.

I’m like you more of an ocean person - I don’t go to lakes much some of our lakes here have rocky beaches I prefer a sand beach
Either way I don’t go in to far because I can’t swim🤣🤣🤣

I would say I am 25% lake, 75% ocean.

Lakes are a lot easier for me to find. However, I have not been swimming in a small lake. I just have some mental hang-up about it. The water might not actually be dirty, but I just cannot get in. That said, I WILL get in Lake Michigan. It might take me a while to build up my courage (due to the water temperature), but I will get in that lake eventually :rotfl2:

I like the ocean like Gulf of Mexico and Atlantic. Most beaches I will get in the water at the ocean. Hilton Head though... I never got in more than knee deep, it may be perfectly fine there, but when I was there the water looked a bit creepy.

I like all bodies of water except slimy, gross ones. ;) We live close to Lake Michigan and travel to Wisconsin frequently, so lakes are what we see the most of. I love the ocean but seldom get to spend much time there.

I like both to stay in a hotel or house in.....I don't go in either anymore. I do not like just sitting by either for very long.
I am a California girl, so oceans were always where I liked to go.
Later in life, I like being by an ocean in bad weather. Love the wind and rain when walking.
Prefer sand over rocks

I grew up on the water so Oceans are all I really know. I've been to some nice lakes but it's just not the same for me ..the sound of an ocean wave puts me in a good place. Spent all afternoon, and too much of the night, down on the beach yesterday :-)

I love both :boat: :beach: and voted 50/50.

I grew up near medium-sized lakes (Finger Lakes of NY) and now live not too far from the ocean (southeastern MA). Both are beautiful, and I will walk along, sit by, and swim in either. :goodvibes

I find being near the water in general very calming.

Ocean all the way. I spent my summers as a kid at my grandfather's cottage on the southern Maine seacoast, and that cottage became my mom's home, so my "water experience" is 99.9% ocean. The only times I've been lake swimming were as a kid at Girl Scout camp OR once in Lake Erie (in Sandusky) and I hated it. The bottoms of lakes are slimy/icky, and then there are fish that swim right up around your legs. At least with the ocean here in New England, most of the swimming things stay further offshore due to the waves... except the really BIG swimming things and then there are usually warnings posted! 🦈😱
