I very infrequently bought frozen pizza until recently and we found some that suits us fine. I have found that 1/2 C of extra cheese makes it even better.
 
I don't eat frozen pizza. I've tried just about every brand out there for all amounts of money, and have yet to find one that tastes good enough to want more. I don't eat pizza at all now because of my diet, but when I did nothing beat a fresh hot pizza from our local pizza joint.
 
We don’t buy frozen pizzas. On occasion we get ones made fresh in store at the deli. Don’t add anything to them.
Or we buy pre-made individual pizza crusts and each add our own toppings,

Frozen pizza is gross.

I picked "sometimes" but it's really more like "usually, but not always." I add a little more cheese (probably about 1/2 cup)... and often some sort of vegetable. I buy the pepperoni frozen pizza then add black olives, onions, mushrooms, etc... whatever I have on hand. But... sometimes the frozen pizza is a last resort when we need a grocery run... then I eat it "as is."

Well the $4-$5 price tag of a frozen pizza does beat the $29.99 price of a pizza joint pizza. And there is no question the pizza joint pizza is better, but NOT $25 better.
 
Always add extra cheese, the amount varies. I'll add onions, black olives, green peppers, and even the dreaded anchovies if I have them on hand.
 
I can't recall last time we had frozen pizza. It probably was when Vince and Natalie were still home, many years ago. I don't recall adding anything back then. Maybe Marie did, not sure. We do eat pizza though, from several of the excellent places in the area.
 
We don’t usually eat frozen pizzas my DH has food allergies. There are a few restaurants we carry out from who make non dairy pizza.
 
Dad enjoys frozen pizza at times. He adds various shredded cheeses to slices along with other toppings. He prefers, more freshly made 🍕of course. A quicker, frozen option is handy. I hope all of you who do enjoy pizza are able to soon enjoy a tasty one :)
 
I do not add cheese to frozen pizza. Maybe I did it wrong when I tried it before, but it just doesn't seem to seem right and it didn't melt the same way.

I don't know where you live, but in my part of New Jersey a pizza is fifteen bucks and doesn't taste like cardboard slathered with tomato sauce. I'd rather shell out a little for a superior product.

$29.95 for the mom and pop pizza places for a large, $25 for a large at one of the better chains like Round Table. Dominos for a large is $19.99.
$15 here is a personal pizza at best. Sacramento, California.

When during the process do people find that adding shredded cheese or additional toppings works best?
 
We'll eat frozen on a busy night; though lately I've found that the Aldi refrigerated ones are very decent (the thin crust version)

For me grocery-store pizza comes down to crust quality; I can doctor everything else, but not that, so that's what determines what I buy. What we typically add to what comes on it is chopped onion, fresh garlic, fennel seed, black pepper, Penzey's Frozen Pizza Seasoning, perhaps some frozen italian sausage if we have it, fresh basil if we have it, and shredded Italian blend cheese, about a 1/2 cup. Extras go on just before putting it in the oven, with the cheese last.
 
The brand that @ronandannette showed is the kind we buy, except we get pepperoni. It’s thin crust and not expensive, sometimes under $5. But I add green onions, mushrooms and lots of grated mozzarella cheese, and sometimes red pepper. Yes, it’s not as good as restaurant pizza but it’s a cheap Saturday night dinner. We sometimes splurge on takeout pizza, but we enjoy this and it’s a bargain. It’s pretty small, but enough for the two of us and we don’t overeat.

Speaking of frozen pizza, we've recently discovered Newman's Own brand pizzas, and they are fantastic! We stick with that and frozen CPK. Although Trader Joe's has some excellent options as well.

I have never added extra cheese. Never even thought to do so. I can't stand pizza with too much cheese.
