It’s not to often that we see people taking pictures with a ‘real’camera today, because everyone uses their phones. Even though the current phones have an awesome camera, they are still not good for everything and here’s why……

Not many people have a ‘real’ camera today, and if they do, they don’t use it. So how about you? Give us your photo good answer today…..

Do you have a ‘real’ camera?
If yes…..what type?
Do you currently use it?
(multiple choice)

For Me……. I/We do have ‘real’ cameras that we never use. We have a couple compact cameras, that I should look and see if there’s batteries in them. because they would probably be corroded by now. We also have a really good Interchangeable Lens Camera that I have no idea how to use. We bought it when my DD21 was in high school - she was incredibly involved with her HS publications department. One day I’ll have her teach me how to use it.

I believe I have two one of them is the kind that you can change lenses on and do all kinds of things what do I use it no have I ever used it no will I ever use it probably not my DD used it when she went on a vacation it takes great pictures
I guess if I would take a vacation someplace other than Disney I might use it

I have two "real" cameras. One is a Cannon DSLR and one is a small Sony. The small Sony fit into an underwater housing which I used when scuba diving. I also used it on land on those trips. The Cannon was used when I was anywhere other than WDW and wanted mostly close up pictures of things like flowers. I didn't use it at WDW because I just didn't want to carry the heavy thing around. Both are in the drawer in my bedroom and haven't been used in years. To be fair, I rarely use the camera on my phone either except to take the rare picture of our dog when we are out in the RV or of my grand daughter or of something I want to remember (like the locker number on Tron or a certain product to buy again or the name of a plant at F&G). I've found as I get older I just don't really have a need of pictures. I think the last picture I took of anything other than the above was at least 10 years ago.

I have one. Compact one. I like using them on vacations.....but I don't like the one I have now, so don't use it.
I loved the one I had a couple of years again but it got lost on a bus (with a weeks worth of Netherlands pictures ). The replacement I got just isn't the same

I have several compact cameras and a nice DSLR. I pretty much never use the compact cameras. I do use the DSLR occasionally but not that often. The ease of the phone camera is hard to compete with for anything except a “portrait session.”

I still have a small digital camera in a drawer somewhere, but it’s been at least 10 years since I’ve used it.

I liked the Kodak disc camera back in the 1980s.

I have a Canon DSLR and a Canon Powershot. I don’t use them for snapshots, but I do use them for special occasions and on those once in a lifetime trips. The zoom on a digital camera is so superior to the zoom on a phone camera. The Powershot is great for taking video where I need to zoom or zooming in on a moving target. I used it at an air show and at a powerboat race and got excellent photos. My phone camera is more for snapshots and quick photos to be shared online.

Funny enough, on Saturday, I found my compact, digital cameras in the pans I took from the cabinet to make paska bread. I know where my SLR is, with all of my lenses and filters, but I never use any of them.

I even have a twin lens reflex camera that I haven't used in around 25 years.

I don't have a "modern" real camera but we do still have the old SLR. It hasn't been used in forever. We also have a couple of old digital cameras but they no longer take decent pictures.

I have a Nikon D7000 DSLR with 4 different lenses depending on what I am shooting. I also have the camera I originally learned photography on which is my dad's film Pentax K1000 which I have a fixed 35mm prime lens for.

I don't use them quite as often as I used to but I still do make an effort to do so since they look better than any phone camera ever could. And for film there is just something special about it.

We bought a new camera - Cannon I think, before our last trip to Europe 2 years ago. We were rather disappointed in the quality of the photos, so never used it again. It's gathering dust ... Admittedly we are not the types to take a photo every three minutes on a trip, so a few decent photos w/ the phone are enough for us. Maybe if we were more educated on the proper use of the nicer cameras or if photography was major hobby for us we would reconsider bringing a camera along with us, but for now we are happy with the quality of our phone camera photos.
