That thread was a classic, Steve. I think it was an often debated topic, many threads. There was a guy on the Net who made reservations and sold them if I recall.

There were a good number of folks like that back then. One of my best, long time buddies from here, @snoopy (Judi) was banned for almost nothing, then, and certainly now.

That was before my time here, and I STILL know about it! Epic.

I looked in on the controversial thread for a brief period. It very soon became repetitive so I drifted off and have zero curiosity to see what's going on there now. Also, it kind of weirded me out to see posters have like a dual personality -- nice one place and not on the other. I'd rather not know that.

To my knowledge , It does not survive. It has been a long time ago. It came before this iteration of my sn which is now two boards old.

Ok...gotta ask. Why corn guy?

Oh, it was kind of a thing way back in day here on the DIS.

There was a thread about "What's the strangest thing you've ever seen at WDW?" and this Kay1 person posted, "I saw a couple eating corn out of a can on the steps of City Hall at the MK."

It struck me (and several others) as funny, so I started another thread, "The Corn People" where I had Mike Eisner calling an emergency meeting because people eating canned corn in the parks were cutting into Mickey Bar sales and him sending the 7 Dwarfs out to drag anyone caught eating corn into the bowels...

Thanks. That does sound familiar as a thread I scrolled past after a peek. Sort of like the "Do They Have Olives on the Ships?" thread over on the Cruise Line Forum.

Yeah, and the way I heard it was like a game of "telephone" where it got more outlandish. I've heard it was one of those school cafeteria sized cans! I have no idea if that's true., but questions remain. Why corn? Creamed or not? Did they bring a can opener? It's just such a bizarre thing.

The guy who really brought it to life was King Schultz, who originally was WillyJ here. He was a master with his creative writing skills. And as King Schultz, he has sadly been missing here on the DIS for a number of years now.

It's like a Dr. Jekyll; Mr. Hyde situation! Definitely changed my opinion on a couple of DISers that I guess I never wanted to change.
