No holiday plans of any kind, but my weekend is full. Tonight I'm babysitting the Little Guy. Saturday, having breakfast with a friend, then driving 3 hours to my sister's. She is the process of moving, her new place isn't ready yet so she'll couch-surf for several weeks, and I will stay overnight then bring her 2 cats home with me on Sunday. I intend to do NOTHING on Monday, as Fall Semester starts on Tuesday!

Annual Labor Day BBQ at our house for about 30-35 family and friends on Sunday. Thank the lord it's going to be a nice sunny day. Not really sure how it became "annual"!!! Hosted the first one about 25 years ago and everyone had so much fun we decided to do it one more year....now 25 years later we're still hosting.

Being in the UK Labor Day isn't a thing, and when it comes to BBQs we don't generally have them to mark the end of summer specifically. For us, we'll have a BBQ whenever there's nice weather be that any time usually from April up until late September. Any excuse when the sun is shining!

Considering the awful weather forecast for this weekend, we wont be having a BBQ. However last weekend was a bank holiday for us and we managed to squeeze one in then. I certainly expect to be having at least one or two more BBQs before September is out!

There is just me, so I will be making myself a cheeseburger, fries, and having a slice of Key Lime Pie for dessert, all accompanied by some fresh brewed iced tea. My sister has to work this weekend, or we would probably have gotten together.

Why are people in such a hurry for summer to end? My SUMMER vacation doesn't even START for 22 days. Still have two months when it could hit 100 degrees here. Yes, it has been 100 on Halloween here.
I guess my view is skewed because holidays were NEVER days off when I was working, it was regular work day. And to confuse things further, now that I am retired, there are no holidays either. Just days when businesses whose services you want or need are closed.

I’m going to a friends tomorrow. She has a great pool and it’s usually the last pool day. It’s going to be cool I’ll be curious if anyone goes in. She will grill burgers and dogs, Chris is bringing pulled pork. Everything else will be potluck. I’m making Cesar salad crouton cups.

Sunday I’m having my bff over for her birthday and patio time. No idea what I’m making. I was leaning towards corn and lobster risotto.

Monday will be DH and me and he’ll probably grill. I’m guessing a ribeye for him and maybe tuna for me.

Yeah long weekends when retired mean nothing anymore just another day…lol

Well, it also means I can't do somethings that I would normally be doing. HVAC company is closed Monday so they won't be out until Tuesday. Don't have to worry about checking the mail though!

Our HOA is having a barbeque at the clubhouse on Sunday afternoon. I'm bringing a tortellini salad and chocolate caramel rice crispy treats.

We're supposed to wear our swimsuits, but ain't nobody wants to see me in that, so just dressing casually.
