I saw Chris Stapleton last fall. Next concert is Ed Sheeran in August. It’s been years and years since I’ve gone to an outdoor concert

3 concerts in my life. Stones, back in 1965, indoor, smaller venue, $5 seat. Nobody was doing the goofy standing thing for the entire show. Theater style seating, and people sat, other than a a few standing ovations after a few songs, like Satisfaction, brand new song at the time.

Next was Springsteen, indoors, the four of us went. Thinking maybe 25 or so years ago. Probably $25-40 a seat.

Last was Neil Diamond, inside, Marie and me, maybe 20 years ago. Probably $80 a seat.

$5 may have given me a backstage, or onstage pass, haha. Could not find a Chicago ticket but here is a Massachusetts ticket, $3, orchestra seating.

Although I've been to smaller concerts, I've never been to a *big* one. In 2020, DD was going to fix that and bought tickets for us to see the k-pop band BTS in Chicago. (She's seen them 2-3 times and introduced me to their music.) It was canceled, of course, due to covid. The band is currently on hiatus while the members serve their military commitment, so maybe we'll be able to go again in the future.

We saw the B-52s with KC and the Sunshine Band last October at a casino showroom.

In late July we’re going to Culture Club with Howard Jones and Berlin. Outdoor Amphitheater but our seats are under cover.

Someone mentioned New Order. I want to go see this in November.



Yes, I’m still stuck in the 80s.

Coming up in September - Adele at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. Can’t wait!

We are not local to Las Vegas, so it’s a trip!

DH and I have a wishlist to see Mark Knopfler in Philadelphia and Bruno Mars in Vegas

Love Mark Knopfler! Saw him in Pittsburgh in 2015 maybe? He had a whole rack of guitars and seemed to play a different one for each song.

We went to see the Killers earlier this year. It was our first concert in a long time. It was indoors, at a college basketball stadium.

Next month, my daughter and I are giong to see Ed Sheeran (She's a big fan). It's outdoors in a football stadium... and we have nosebleed seats, so hopefully it'll be OK. In good news, those tickets weren't that expensive (but the better ones were $$$). Parking is going to cost more than the face value on the ticket.

Tonight, provided it stops raining, we're going to our town's festival for an outdoor concert. There's a local 80's-music cover band that I like and they're playing in the amphiteater. The main day of the festival is tomorrow and they've got a reasonably-well-known-but-past-its-prime band headlining that, but I doubt we'll go to that one.

I don’t remember. Used to go to a lot of them. But….. Taylor swift is coming here next week and I can’t wait till it’s over. Tired of hearing about it.

We saw Taylor Swift last weekend. It was outdoors and big—broke the attendance record for Acrisure Stadium. We were in the cheap seats—I was waiting in that crazy line on-line that took almost an entire day last fall to get tickets. I think our seats were $120 plus fees. We had several groups going that we tailgated with—mostly our children and their friends.

Next month we have tickets for Ed Sheeran. That should be less crazy.

Can’t remember for sure, but two come to mind.

1). Sugarland at the Showboat in Chesaning, Michigan. It was an outdoor concert that had to be postponed a full year because of rain. Everyone stood for the entire show, I’m short so couldnt see anything, idiots were singing along most were terrible singers, and people were heavily drinking so were having to step over us to go to the bathroom a bunch of times, just not enjoyable at all.

2). Dwight Yoakam at the Soaring Eagle Casino, in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. I remember the year was 2003, as I was walking around with a blood clot in my lungs. Didn’t know what it was, several tests were run before they figured it out. But the concert was great, everyone sat in their seats, the seats were 10 to a table, tiered floor areas, and our table was at a railing and I had the first seat so could see very well. Very enjoyable.

We were there, too on Friday night. I also was online for about 5 hours getting tickets. I think I paid over $200/seat and our hotel was ridiculously expensive.

Last concert was Lady Gaga at Dodger Stadium last September.

We had front row seats right off the field.

Net cost was $60 for VIP parking, because I bought 4 tickets and resold 2 for twice what I paid. I do that for every concert because I get pre-sale access to the best seats through a credit card.
