Summertime is the season for grad parties. Some summers, it feels like you have one almost every weekend. Some are close to home and some you have to travel a great distance to attend. If you’re lucky….some may be walking distance away. I meant to do this topic earlier, but then I forgot, so some of you may have already gone to some grad parties this year. So tell us today……

Do/Did you have a grad party to go to this year?
If yes…..how many?
Did you have to travel far to attend it?
(multiple choice)

For Me……Luckily, we have only one this year and it’s next weekend. I say luckily, because it’s for my neighbors DD and we give our neighbors girls (5 total) larger gifts than other kids so I’m glad I just have one gift to give this year. Since the party is two houses down from us, we will walk to the party. I’m looking forward to it - it’ll be a good time.

Our grandson graduated high school this May. His party was May 31st and less than two miles away. It is the only grad party we are attending this year. :)

Just did 1 this year, we had one for my step-daughter who graduated college. It was A LOT of work (thankfully it was a TEAM EFFORT), but very successful and everybody had a good time. It was pretty close, about 15 minutes away the church's social hall. They let us set up everything the night before so the "day of" preparations were minimal.

We are all very happy with the way things went and it turned out.

As far as I know, this is the ONLY graduation party we will be attending this year. I KNOW it's the only one we are hosting:rotfl2:

We knew more graduates this year than I expected! Some were far away, and we just sent cards, but I went to a party just down the street last weekend, and we are invited to one more coming up. (That one is not quite as close, but probably less than a 30 minute drive.)

We have one to go to this year, on the 28th, about 2 miles away at the township hall. It’s for our son’s girlfriend’s son. I’m helping prep the food for it.

Other. No graduates in the family or immediate friend group but our church puts on a big celebration for all our high school grads every year. It’s a stand-up reception and program for about 20 of them and there are several hundred guests. It’s this coming Sunday evening and I’ll be there most of the day helping with the catering. :goodvibes

We have a number of graduations, but just notifications (three kids of cousins). No parties for us, just cards.

No party for us this year. My best friend is getting her PHD though and will most likely graduate in December. We will definitely do something for her!

One grad party this year. My great nephews down the Cape. Two hours each way.
