Hoping someone can help. I'm looking for larger style Disney backpacks for my girls to take on the flight to Disney in June.

The shops (and online) are full of these really cheap, small backpacks (the ones with only one main compartment and around £7 - 8 ish). These are not really big enough for our needs.

My DD1 has one from when she was very small which is great - about 16", has two large main compartment zipped areas and also a large front zipped area plus net pockets either side. Unfortunately it is falling apart so need new!

Anyone seen any like this - DD1 has asked for a Rapunzel one for her birthday but the ones I've seen are awful/garish (and not worth the money/too small). She's getting a bit old for the usual Disney Princesses/pink branding but loves Tangled. Or, failing that Minnie Mouse retro style etc would work. DD2 would be happy with Princesses or Minnie I think.

Anyone seen any at shops when out and about. I don't want wheelie ones as I think they'll struggle with them, backpacks are best for us when travelling as they are happy to put them on their backs.

Thanks for any help/leads :) :goodvibes

I nearly bought those ones (there are 2 styles) as they looked great online. Saw them in Toys R Us this weekend and they are much smaller than you think and not great quality tbh (pleased I saw them in the flesh first!)....

I am beginning to think I might need to buy plain backpacks and see if I can get some nice badges to sew on (or those iron on transfers might work?) - might be an idea if I can't do anything else??

angel nix - that is a fab - love it for DD1 (bit old for DD2) and haven't seen it anywhere! However, I really would like two main compartments (I've seen them on other bags, just not Disney ones recently!).

I think it would be useful for them to have their activities etc in one compartment and snacks/drink/essentials in the other compartment....

I don't want much do I :rotfl2:....

How about messenger bags instead? my DD and my Dniece both have them, you can get fabulous Disney styles suitable for all ages, we've had them from Argos at very good prices, and I think the Disney store has a nautical/retro Minnie one? The straps can be adjusted to fit across the body over one shoulder, and the bag can be pushed around to your back so its not in your way.

Thanks Elaine! I have seen them and discounted them because they don't sit on your back and I had thought DD2 in particular will struggle with it (she is used to wearing preschool backpack so happy with those). But I hadn't thought about adjusting the straps and spinning it round - I'll have more of a look at them, might be they are still too long/big for DD2 but might work for DD1 :thumbsup2

Is Disney going out of fashion these days - a few years back there were Disney bags all over - you don't see so many these days. It's all Moshi Monsters :sad2: Even the Disney Store has less than it used to.

As I am going to have a flight bag myself and DH will be struggling with 2 cases, I don't want to end up with 3 lots of bags to carry ....

I know the sort you mean, my dd has a pink one for school! I'm racking my brains trying to remember where I saw some. Our local market is usually quite good for these bags!

Certainly no backpacks big enough in DS. Will look at messenger bags when I am next there.

I think I would prefer to buy in a shop, as quite frankly when you see them online and then see them in real life, they never seem to look as big/as nice :scared1:. As was the case with the retro Minnie one linked above - looks great online, in rl not so good!

Ive been looking on Amazon too, this is actually a princess character one.....But is it the sort of design you are looking for? seems to have a main zip then a front one too :)
(so far seen a Tinkerbell one like it to)

EDIT - Just seen you are more for shops, so i will keep a look out when out and about:)
