We found out we were pregnant a few weeks ago and went to the dr yesterday. When they were doing the ultra sound the lady started acting weird and me and DH were getting nervous. We asked her if there was a problem and she said "Nope- Baby #1 is right here ..." I said "Excuse me ??? Baby #1?? what does that mean?"

They told us we were having TWINS!!! to say we were shocked is an understatement! we already have a 4 year old and never thought we would have twins.

Does anyone have twins? we dont even know where to begin! :confused3

Wow! Congratulations to you. I don't have twins but I do have quite a few friends who do. All of them are involved in their local Mother's of Multiples groups. They seem to be a really close knit group. Maybe you could look to see if there is a chapter near you so that you could have some been there/done that support. Best of luck to you and your family.

I was shocked beyond belief too at the sonogram when we found out we were having twins. Once the shock wears off, you will be excited and although it seems overwhelming, you CAN do it. You won the lottery - congratulations :))))

I can't offer any twin advice, just popping in to say congratulations! At least these two kiddos aren't your first babies, you've had a little practice up to this point and you'll be fine. DH's aunt had twins for their "2nd" and they were over the moon with everything the boys did.

I accidently became pregnant for the 4th time, right #3's birthday. I went to the u/s, and said "please tell me there is no baby in there," and she replied "well, actually there are 2." Needless to say, I was not a happy camper! :lmao: She then invited DH into the room, and said "do you know what you are looking at?" He said no, so she said "well, this is baby A...."

He laughed, he cried - he was in shock. Needless to say, now that they're 7, I can't even begin to tell you how blessed I am! The difference between having twins and a singleton is like the difference between having a boy and a girl - a different experience, one I was lucky enough to have. Thank goodness for accidents!

DD and DSIL have twins-girl and boy. They are the joy of our lives and bring us countless hours of happiness. Congratulations to you and your husband. I know that you will reap the benefits of this blessing.

We were at my grandfathers last night to celebrate his birthday and my cousin announced that she was pregnant with twins! Talk about a shock because she had said she wasn't having any more kids (she has a 5 year old). I am a twin and my mother told her the only advice she can ever give to twin parents is to get the babies on the same schedule even if it means waking a sleeping baby to feed them (which she would never do with a singleton). She said that was the only way she could get through the first 6 months.

Congratutlations and good luck! I am sure it will take a few weeks for it to sink in :goodvibes

Congratulations!! How exciting! We are in the same boat as you - I have twin boys who just turned a year old and a daughter who is almost 4. Like you, we were completely SHOCKED when we found out a standard ultrasound that I was pregnant with twins! For me, that shock didn't wear off until well after they were born :) It is an amazing experience! If you have any questions or just want someone to talk to who can relate, let me know! I love talking to other moms of multiples - it's almost like a club! Every time I am out at the store or whatever and bump into a family with twins, I always stop and say hi. Best wishes to you for a happy and healthy pregnancy!

Congratulations. Once upon a time I heard a similair story. I had a 4 year old son and a 10 month dd and I was pregnant again about 2 months. I woke up bleeding and thought I was having a miscarriage. They did an ultrasound. They said here is baby A and here is baby b. I didn't know if I should laugh at her or cry:laughing: Mine are almost 9 now. I do go to twinboards so pm if you want to know what they are.

Congratulations!

No twins here, but wanted to share a story. I know a lady who had 5 children. She found out she was pregnant with number 6. She had had 5 healthy pregnancies and told her hubby "dear, I think I'm going to wait to go to the dr. I've done this many many times, and know what to look for" etc.

Around 5 months or so pregnant, she decides to go for her prenatal. She tells hubby, "hey, kids are with the grandparents. I have an appointment. Why don't you cut out from work early and meet me for lunch"

After the appointment, she gets in the car where hubby picked her up. Her face was white. Hubby is ecstatic to have a nice lunch date with his wife. She just stares straight ahead. She couldn't utter a word. Finally, just just looks at him and all that comes out of her mouth was:

TWO!!!

:rotfl::rotfl2::lmao:

So, yup, their last two were their 6th and 7th!!!

CONGRATS!!:cool1: I (secretly) always wanted twins....but never got them. Instead I had four singles.;)

BTW...my DD is named Kaleigh too!!:thumbsup2:lovestruc

When our Dr. told us it was twins I started hyperventilating. DH yelled "Yes, I did it!" :rotfl2:

My only advice is to rest now, while you can. I was SOOO tired through the whole pregnancy and was on hosp. bedrest for the last 10 days. I would give anything to sleep like that again! :rolleyes1

Our twins were born c-section because our OB said it was best for the babies and we were very glad we did it that way! They were at 36 weeks gestation and were 6 lbs 10 oz. & 7 lbs 9 oz. I was Huge!

We are so blessed to have healthy children and we are so thankful for them! and having twins definitely took away away my baby-fever!

Find a Mothers of Multiples group in your area. they can be a huge resource, especially in the beginning!

Good Luck!! & CONGRATS!!
