I have one on hand that expires on Friday, so I am anxious to use it. Unfortunately I did a fairly "big shop" (for me anyhow) at Target last week and forgot that I even had it!

I am going to Target tomorrow with a handful of coupons and a few "needs" but I need to use this reward card and I'm wondering how to maximize it, since I don't need much.

No Disney trip on the horizon, so no need for Disney gift cards.... and I am NOT tying up my money with them with no trip scheduled.

We don't eat out much at all, so probably no real need to buy a bunch of restaurant cards, although I will probably grab a few for gifts and to leave in the glove box for the occasional weekend meal out.

I WILL try to get all of my Easter basket needs, but my kids are older and I don't really buy candy any more.

I just bought a LOT of paper towels and TP last week with my coupons/sales, so don't need much of that.

I will probably just cruise the aisles to see what is on sale (ladies necessities, cat food, sox) and buy non-perishables to stock up the pantry.

I would have considered selling the code because I could use $100 to pay college tuition bills, but since I forgot I had this code, it is too late to sell it now. Fortunately it is the beginning of the pay month for us, so I have plenty of funds for another big purchase.

Anyhow.... any ideas on how to MAXIMIZE this purchase?? TIA.................P

Start by checking out the TotallyTarget.com blog and look for ways to combine coupons with this week's sales. Pay special attention to deals that offer GCs back when you make a purchase, such as the coupon in the circular for a $5 Target GC wyb $15 in haircare products or the $5 Target GC for buying two of the household products listed in the ad with no coupon needed. Don't go crazy buying stuff, but get the best possible deal on the things that you will use and then top the savings off with that Pharma5 reward card.

Thanks for the thoughts! Off to check out that website now!....P

If you have extra money to spend NOW and are looking for the best use of the reward, my advice, stock up on pantry items and HBA.

Otherwise, if you don't have the extra money now buy what you need, use the 5% and save what you can.

I would sell the pharmacy reward on a facebook yard sale page - make sure they pick up today, and you'll still have time to shop tomorrow if they flake out. Even if you only sell it for $10 you'll probably come out ahead as you'd have to spend $200 in store to save $10, and it sounds like you don't have that much on your shopping list.

Not a bad idea, but I'm busy tomorrow ALL DAY and so if they flake out, I would lose the opportunity to use it.... not a tragic idea, but I'd rather save a little than let it pass.

THanks to everyone for the helpful suggestions. I hit Target this morning with my coupons, Cartwheel, and 5% card and managed to save $23 in coupons and $14.37 with the Pharmacy rewards and it was used to buy almost exclusively necessities plus some Easter goodies!............P
