Slide Show & Photo CD?

I'm just so anxious to receive both the sideshow and the photos!! I hope it arrives soon! I especially am looking for a photo of DD dancing with one of our guides at the final dinner. I took a video, but DH forgot to take a still. I know our other guide did take a photo! :). It was a special ending to a magical week. :wizard:

Aaaaawwww!!! That's really cute! You'll get it pretty soon. Francesc used to perform in theater so he's got the moves. ;)

Frankie danced with DD. Francesc and I sang together. Lol. That evening was such fun! :grouphug:

You know, if that's digital video, you can pull stills off of it pretty easily, depending on the format.

Update on my situation:

I haven't received my DVD yet despite it being sent on Thursday and they said I would have it by now. I called ABD to get the tracking # and they said, according to the UPS tracking that I had refused the shipment. Huh??? While still talking to ABD, I put the tracking number in and discovered.... the DVD is still in Orlando...it never left. UPS refused to send it because ABD didn't declare it. They didn't put a commercial invoice on it which is what UPS requires for any international shipment. At the moment, it's being returned to the shipper in Orlando.

Customs has nothing to do with the delay ... for Canada Customs to be involved, it has to actually get here first.

Soooooo.... ABD is now waiting for it's return and they're going to FED EX it to me. They said that should make it to me sometime next week. They'll email me my tracking #.

I love ABD but I really wish they'd fix how they ship stuff outside of the country. The customer service is first rate but their shipping people are ... well, they let the rest down.

update update !!!!

This has become rather funny.... falling the bouncing DVD.

Ok... so last week was when I called and asked them if they had mailed it or couriered it. I said, on the phone, if you mailed it I'll just wait a little while longer for the DVD because mail will usually take about 2 weeks or so. ABD said, "Oh, we usually UPS it. We'll find you your tracking #." So I guess when they didn't find a tracking #, they decided to send me the DVD last Thursday ... the UPS without the commercial invoice.

Well, I just got home and in the mailbox were ... 2 DVDs (one for my parents). They were mailed (U.S Postal service) ... wait for it ... 2 weeks ago. :wizard: :rotfl2:

So... I just got off the phone with ABD and told them not to Fed Ex me another DVD and we both had a great time laughing about what had happened. I also told them that MAILING it to Canada was the way to go. Forget the courier....couriers are nothing but trouble when it comes to shipments up here. I told her ... mail is the best ... it'll take a little longer but it gets here ... :thumbsup2

So ... kudos to the U.S. and Canadian Postal Services!!! And btw, it was declared for $18 and Customs did not stop it at all. If it had been couriered, customs would have wanted its pound of flesh.

So thus ends my DVD's journey. I'm gonna pop it into the computer now and watch. Thanks to all that helped (Kevin, all the ABD people including the one that found me on Facebook just to let me know they're looking into it for me.)

And guess what .... it was worth the wait.

I just watched the slide show and I miss everybody all over again.

We got ours right on time...except ...oops...no DVD inside:lmao:

It was routed through our TA at the time ( who was simply awful and we've moved on!) and I think they took it out to watch it and then sent it on without putting the DVD back:sad2: ABD kindly sent another.

So it sounds like yours had a more exciting journey that you did on the actual ABD, glad you enjoyed them after all!;)

Can I tell another funny off topic photo story? We packed our CD away for a few years after printing some photos, and one day, while we were considering another ABD, I asked DH to get it out. And we looked at them all over again and it was great. The same day I " liked" ABD on Face book, while researching a new trip.

The very next day ABD posted one of the photos from OUR TRIP on their FB page ( rafting in CR)! It was such an incredible coincidence...even though the trip had been 2 years earlier, I recognized the photo of two other families on our trip in the raft right away because we had just been looking at the photos the night before! It made me reconnect with one of the families in FB, which was fun!

But what a crazy coincidence...I decided it was a sign and booked Ecuador:thumbsup2

I called our travel agent at AAA and she said nothing came in the mail for us today, but she will keep an eye out and call as soon as it arrives.

One of our new friends said she's ready to plan a reunion after watching the DVD because she misses us all so much! I said "Count us in!" :wave2:

I've watched my slideshow from 2008, and it still brings back all those lovely memories! I love all my slideshows, and it's fun to pull them out from time to time.
