Slice

Just wondering if anyone has the Slice? I've heard mixed reviews from people who absolutely love it to those who say it doesn't work well and is a waste of money for anyone who owns a Cricut. I've heard it's available at ACMoore and figured now would be a good time to get one before they add it to their exceptions on their coupons. So ... thought I'd ask here about what people thought.

Well ... guess I'll respond to my own post.

Picked up the Slice today ... went to one ACM ... what a joke. First I'm told that everyone but this one cashier is in a meeting so she doesn't have anyone to go and look for it for me (there was one display box on the self). Then she calls someone ... of course the woman has no clue what I'm talking about so asks me to show her. Then I hear about how that's not her department so she doesn't know why she was called ... she kicks the box on the shelf then tells me she'll check the back ... comes out and of course they don't have any. They did give me a raincheck (still have not heard back from them from over a year and half ago when I got a raincheck for a cricut cart). I called the ACM about a half hour away and they had them! Put my son on the bus and ran to get it. Yoou should have heard the hesitation in the managers voice when I told him I would be using a 50% off coupon! I would not be surprised if it shows up in their coupon exclusions soon.

OMG!!! That will call for a mental note not to return back to store number 1 EVER! Have you called the corportate office about the year long raincheck.. they already took your money, right? If they did, I'd be lighting up their phone lines every hour or two until I got my cart!!! As for the 50% off, good for you!!! I bet you are right, we will see that in the exclusions soon..
We don't have ACM in my neck of the country so I leave vicariously through the rest of you that have that store!

Oh no Nancy ... no money was taken on the cart raincheck. The same thing happened with a M's raincheck for a cart. Never heard from them. Usually I fill out the raincheck and just look at a couple of other stores nearby. I have 4 M's and 2 ACM's nearby but I will pick up a raincheck at the first store I check just in case the others don't have what I want.

They are selling at $149.99 at A C Moore. I feel like I got a pretty good deal with the 50% off coupon. The website is www.whyslice.com. I can't wait to open it and play with it.

So would it be good for someone who doesn't have a cricut and doesn't want to buy one really because its big and would take up loads of space? I've got a XYRON PCS but it ticks me off - I can't get the paper to stop sliding around (even with new sticky mat and new blade )

I don't know anything about the XYRON but do have the original Cricut ...I love it but also like the size of the Slice and its's cards. I hope to get to use it this weekend. It mentions on Making Memories website that they will be coming out with new cards this month ... I can't wait to see what they are. I just have this feeling that if this machine does start selling well at Michael's and AC Moore that they will add it to their coupon exclusions. I want to pick up a few things before that happens.
