I know I read somewhere about a sleigh ride at the fort.. I can't find all the info anymore.

Is there a sleigh ride this year?/ $35??
Can anyone tell me is it worth the cost...where exactly does the ride take you through and how long does it last?

I would love to see pics from your ride if you could share

Thanks!:santa:

I don't think there is a sleigh ride offered at Fort Wilderness. There is a hayride and carriage ride! And, there's a sleigh ride at the Wilderness Lodge!

Here's a link to the page that shows information on both of them: WL Sleigh Ride and FW Carriage Ride :goodvibes

Does anybody know if these fill up fast? I read somewhere the part about the drivers selling tickets and thought you couldn't reserve, but on looking at it again, I see you CAN reserve it. ugh. I hope I didn't miss it! We did a carraige ride on our last nonWDW vacation, and it was one of the highlights of the trip, so we thought we'd do this.

Whether or not the sleigh ride is held depends on how much snow they get in Central Florida.

Wasn't that you I saw on the news shoveling? Buffalo made the Philly news at least. I talked to my Mom and she got about 6 inches in the south towns. Gotta love that lake effect snow.

I'm not sure which one you're talking about, but I tried to reserve the sleigh ride for Dec. 1 on Nov. 7 and it was sold out. :sad1:

My understanding of it is:
Sleigh rides are at Wilderness Lodge. They are $35.00 for the 'sleigh'. Ride is 25 mins. Sleigh can seat 4 adults or 2 adults & 3 children (ages 9 & under). This can be reserved.

Carriage rides at Fort Wilderness. Also $35.00 for the carriage. Ride is 25 mins. Small carriage holds 2 adults and 1 small child. Large carriage holds 4 adults or 2 adults and 3 small children. Can be reserved.

There's also the wagon ride at Fort Wilderness, which is about $9.00 per person. Wagons seat about 30 people. And are not reservable.

Thanks for all the comments :)
I am really intrested in the carriage ride at FW!! I have read that you get to see the campsites all decorated. I don't think I want to take my kids on a ride through the dark woods (which is what I hear the sleigh ride at WL is like). I think that is more of a romatic setting. I am intrested in some family sight seeing.

If anyone has pics of what their exp. was like... I would love to see them.

Guess I need to call and make our reservations. Does anyone know where the pickup spot is for the carriage ride @ the Fort? We plan on going to the campfire movie and leaving from there to the carriage ride. Are these 2 spots nearby each other??

I just found the pickup spot it is

Departs from Crockett’s Tavern at Pioneer Hall.

Anyone know how far away from the movie area this is?? How much time should I allow for us to get there to make it on time for our ressie??

Campfire program is near the Meadows trading post/ pool complex with is located roughly in the middle of the campround. A short bus ride will get you to the Settlement area where Pioneer Hall is located. (I believe its a Yellow bus...but there will be a guide map at each bus stop)

thanks!!

Do you have any idea how much time I should allot for the bus to come, ride, and drop off?? 15min? 30 min??

I am trying to get an idea before I call to book the carriage. I know we might not get to watch the entire movie, but I would like the kids to get to see the majority of it before we head over to the carriage ride.

anyone reserve a ride this year??

Wondering if I should book...do you get to see the lights on the campsites??
