Sleeveless shirts okay on men in these restaurants?

It's just my opinion, and "anything goes" at disney but men in public in tank tops is kinda ewww.
Will I see it? sure. Is it appropriate? no. Same with girls in shorts shorter than underwear and jogging bras...they seem to think this is public clothing at disney...I disagree. But that's just me. :)

I agree, we all have our own personal levels of what we feel is right and what we feel is wrong. Appropriate to us is not appropriate to another person.

My belief is that as a guest you live by the rules of the house that you're staying at. Disney says tanks are OK at these restaurants and we have to deal with it. We may not like it, we may not think it's appropriate, but it's not our call.

I'm on the fence about it but you all are making me laugh and grossing me out at the same time. :rotfl:

Would this be considered apopropriate attire?

Apparantly lots of people on this board don't like dining in the same room with guys in sleeveless shirts.

That's all well and good for them.

If you make your husband wear a short sleeved shirt....Be prepared to explain why he's looking at 20 other guys wearing sleeveless shirts.

If you're married to the guy, you have a bigger problem than the shirt. (sorry Bob, had to do it!)

Just because men do it doesn't make it ok. Men in sleeveless shirts is a look that should be saved for the privacy of their backyards. Please have mercy on the rest of us.

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Thank you for saying what we are all thinking. Just because you can get away with it doesn't make it right. Reminds me of the men who insist on cutting their grass with no shirt on. Just because you can do it doesn't mean you should.

I agree that most restaurants are casual. There is, however, a fine line between park casual and backyard barbecue casual. We have sneeze guards on buffets for a health reason and so far I have not seen any armpit hair guards on buffets. I think certain anatomical parts on men are highly attractive. But seeing and smelling a sweaty ogre's armpit upon returning from a hot day at the park while I eat does not heighten my dining experience :scared1: . I agree with the others that recommend men leaving sleeveless shirts and Speedos/Speedon'ts at home.

I guess if you are sitting next to the sweaty guy's table when he is wearing a sleeveless shirt and speedos then yes it is appropriate.

I guess nobody would be worried about getting a stray armpit hair in their buffet if that were the dress code. :)

After thinking about the sweaty guys in their sleeveless shirts and Speedos, I suppose I would be glad that I was going during the winter. With that said, I felt sorry for the children, especially the girls, who got dressed up in their Cinderella, Alice, and Snow White costumes. What a pain that must have been. I guess about 75-80% of the little girls last year were dressed up and some looked excited, while others cried and looked miserable. :sad2: Walking around all day in those shoes had to have been painful. Maybe it was the girls' decision, but maybe it was the mothers living vicariously through their children. Glad I have a little boy. Don't mean to ruffle any feathers, just pointing out an observation. Is it just me or has anyone else noticed this?

In the case of my cousin - definitely her doing! But at least my aunt had the sense to back comfy clothes for when she was tired of her dress by 11.

Disney says you can, but I think tank tops should be reserved for the gym.

My husband would never wear one to dinner - I think it is very low class.

Tacky. Keep the hairy armpits covered please!

I agree, my husband would never wear a sleeveless shirt to any sit-down restaurant. He doesn't even wear sleeveless shirts to the parks.

I have to agree (sorry, OP!). My first thought was - ew, no sleeveless shirts on men in restaurants. That's just not appropriate. I'm sure many people do it - but it doesn't make it ok.

All i can say is "EWWWW", but then same goes for a females armpit at the buffet. :confused3 sleeved shirts at the buffets please
