Sleepover Problems

I hope you didn't let her stay AND if you did, I hope you got her some chocolate milk, left the light on instead of a night light and found Nik at night or something with no scary commercials on the TV. I pray you had no more storms(my 10 yo strappin' boy might be afraid in a strangers home during a big storm) and last, I hope you got some sleep. :thumbsup2

I might get flamed, but I kind of feel for the girl. She's getting a "new daddy", moving and having to stay with her "new daddy's friends" all in the same time period. No wonder she was being ornery and needy. I mean, at nine, she should know better than being ungrateful, but it does seem that there were extenuating circumstancs.

I would just set the expectations for the girl with her mom or your friend. If it doesn't work out again, then tell them never again.

Thats kind of what I thought too when I first read this. Wow, thats a lot for a kid to handle.

Its really nice of you to help them out, and I know they think its easier for them to get things done without her being there, but come on, shes 9 and all she sees is mom is too busy so she sends me off to people I don't know to get me out of the way. I think it would help them more as a family to work together so she feels more a part of the family instead of being seen as in the way. At 9 there is lots she can do to help and not be in the way.
