Does anyone have any tips for sleeping in the same cabin as someone who snores? I already wear ear plugs every night...

Have them sleep on the verandah. :lmao:

Have they tried those Breathe-right strips? They might help.

Is it your spouse? Mine was a terrible snorer and denied for years that he had sleep apnea. He finally had a sleep study done, and guess what - he had sleep apnea! Now he has a cpap machine and there's no more snoring. :)

We use a white noise machine all the time- take one when we travel and I love it. It also blocks out the ambient noises of a hotel or the ship :) I sleep like a baby!

I am dealing with the same issue - we never end up in the same bed in the morning - and no DH will not do a sleep study. I am going to bring a fan and ear plugs, and sleep on the pull out coach if need be, but I don't know what to do either! I may end up on the balcony

lots of wine so you will pass out and not hear him???:lmao: :rotfl2:

My thoughts exactly! As I type this I am in a semi-coma from my wonderful spouse snoring the past couple of nights and me getting no sleep. I am more of a night owl, so he always goes to bed before I do. I find it harder to make him shut up if I am in another bed because I can't poke him to make him roll over. At least he did say he would do a sleep study, just hasn't got around to it yet! Also, Tylenol PM and ear plugs works for me a lot of the time!

My mother cruised in our cabin and she usually snores so we were dreading it. She found a snoring mouth guard of some type to put in her mouth when she went to sleep! Wow! It really worked, because we didn't hear her snore the whole trip.

If it is in our cabin, it's probably DH and I hit him. ;) If it is the person in the cabin next to us I bang on the wall to wake them up so they will stop. Yes, this happened one time around 2 a.m. on the Magic Room 8004. I was woken up by someone snoring next door. :(

LOL! Did you ever meet your noisy neighbors?

wine - ear plugs - or sound reducing headphones w/soft music playing -

my husband is really bad - has the sleep apnea - went for the study - got the mouth piece but it's so old and he won't go back - it's not the snoring but the sudden snore after the apnea that's even worse - i use the headphones until i'm so tired i don't hear him -

we downloaded "white noise" unto our ipod and then play it on a loop on a docking station.

go to bed first?
Trust me, that doesn't work. They will just wake you up.

DH has to sleep as far away from me as possible and then I throw things at him when he wakes me up with his snoring. I also have a sound machine, but it doesn't really drown him out. I've tried earplugs, but they hurt my ears and I can't sleep because of that. I'm a very light sleeper and any little thing will wake me up. The last couple nights the moon has been really bright and has woken me up coming through the blinds. I know, I'm abnormal.

aloha,
You should tell your husband to get a sleep test. I have sleep apnea. The doctor told me I was lucky to come in. Snoring puts a lot of stress on you heart. You stop breathing and then you start up again. Several football players died from sleep apnea. I no longer snore and I have a happy wife.

In these days of iPhones (and all the other smart phones), I think I'd have to take a video and show it to my wife if she denied she had a problem!

Actually, neither of us snores so it's not a problem.

I have roomed with someone who snores though. My wife and I couldn't fall asleep no matter what we id. We end up laughing at our snoring room mate in the middle of the night and napping during the day.

Slip the snoring spouse a hefty dose of caffeinated coffee and keep him or her awake! :)

Hi
I am the one that can sleep tru anything.
But I am also the one who snores!
Did get tested and no sleep apnea!

I Use strips , wife uses earplugs and Tylenol Pm!

It is not easy being the ONE!
There is not much control over it.
We do feel guilty about our suffering spouses!

We have figured out venting the frustration by elbowing/ pushing/ screaming at your spouse is not fair to either one!

We are mindful of each other and if she is having a terrible time falling sleep she nicely let's me know and sometimes I go out for a walk on. Around the ship for a while while she actually sleeps.
She knows I (the snorer) does not do it to agravate her!

Good luck

I wear an earplug to bed every night. I usually sleep on my left side, so I put the earplug in my right ear, and the pillow drowns out the rest. On particularly bad nights, it's a "double-plug" night. After a while, my ears will start to get irritated, so I will take an ambien. I can usually sleep through his snoring if I can take an ambien and fall asleep before DH does. I hate wearing earplugs, because I'm always afraid the smoke alarm will go off and I won't hear it. I apologize to our future cruise neighbors...if my boys can hear him downstairs with the bedroom door closed and the TV on, I know our neighbors will be able to hear him too. I'm going to bring extra earplugs, and if they have FEs, slip a few in for them! :rolleyes1
