Sleeping places for 4 adults in 1-bedroom on Magic?

The pull out sofas in the Cat T have a very thin mattress, as mentioned. And the bed feels more like a creaky pull out than a bed. If that is ok with the sleepers, go for it! We put the 2 children on it and they were fine. It was creaky, though.

I just googled "additional mattress for sofa bed Disney Magic", and it gave me the link to the thread on this forum )) People there discuss getting egg crate mattress topper from their room steward, and they got them - though they weren't even in concierge rooms. It seems like that egg crate mattress topper was very helpful.

I just watched a video about 1-bedroom I booked, and that helped me to make up my mind: we are going to do that (if my work would not get on the way )) I still feel the room is too expensive for what you get, - but it would be so nice to have that extra space. This cruise has 2 sea days, and sure is going to be crowded.

So the possibility to have quite family time together on a spacious balcony, eat in the room, even probably put small Christmas tree in the room - these are great benefits from my point of view, and hopefully will make this time very memorable for us.

Other concierge benefits don't look that valuable for me personally, as I am not very sophisticated person, and all this stuff like "concierge-butler-etc" makes me a little nervous. But from what I read - if you stay concierge, you can place some requests pre-cruise. So I am thinking that would be great opportunity to ask for that extra-mattress for the sofa-bed and couple loungers for the balcony. Also they say those concierges (or butlers?) make wonders, and I hope they will get us separate table on the days we decide to go to main dining rooms. I didn't even realize that you might not get separate table for your family - which would be a real bummer for us, as neither me or my husband are good in small talk )))

All this would make our cruise really comfortable, and I am ready to pay for that.

Since it's concierge and if you're talking about those egg crate foam pads, get 2, if you can. It will make it even better. My mom uses two when guests stay on her sleeper sofa and I find it much better.

the problem with the one bedroom is the lack of space when the beds in the living room are open.
We stayed in what's considered the bigger one bedroom on the magic/wonder (one of the 4 midship one bedrooms) and even it was very cramped at night with the beds open.

What to do. Two-bedrooms would be nice, but the Christmas Cruise price for two-bedroom is totally unjustifiable for me. Even for one-bedroom - it is hardly justifiable.

But nobody does Christmas better then Disney, so I'm going to bite the bullet (e.g. the price )), as I really want to go on a Christmas Cruise with my family. Parks would be even more fun for me and for my daughter, but we did NY once, and my husband could not stand the crowds there. My mom is going to be 71, parks - especially as crowded as they are going to be around Christmas - is not a good option for her in her age. Cruise is easier.

As me and my husband are going to be waking up early - to see the sunrise and walk around the ship while it is still literally empty, it is nice that we are going to have our own "area" with the bathroom etc. And I know from our first cruise - my mom and my daughter are going to sleep much later. So we would just keep the bedroom door closed - not to disturb my mom on the murphy bed, and walk into living room through the balcony. Does it sound realistic? The more that balcony - is first place I go on the cruise morning - still in my pajamas ))

We are going to do 9-day European Cruise on Norwegian Getaway in Haven 2-bedroom next summer - me, daughter and my husband, as my daughter and me both graduate that year. Those rooms look VERY nice, and they have whole dedicated Haven concierge area on the ship - with pool, hot tubs, sun deck and even restaurant. Their price is almost twice less then 5-night two-bedroom on Disney Christmas Cruise ))

But for me - Christmas with Disney - what I am looking for. Concierge room is just a way to make it more special and a little more comfortable.

FYI concierge guests are automatically given their own table in the main dining rooms, unless you request to sit with others. You should still note it with shoreside concierge before your cruise though, just to be safe.

I guess I need advice - or rather opinion - again. I just priced booking one-bedroom for two-adults + oceanview for 2 adults (my daughter is going to be 18) - on the same cruise. And the price is just a smidge higher then the 1-bedroom for 4 adults.

So I'm thinking now - it might not be a bad idea to book my daughter and my mom at the separate oceanview room, so my mom would have comfortable bed, and quite retreat from us?

I would then switch to different one-bedroom, as it would not be important for us to have murthy bed in the living room, as nobody would be using it. And the rooms would not be on the same floor. But I found that 8022 and 7014 are both very close to front staircase, so, if we book those, it should not be a problem for us to get together, whenever we need. I would need to make sure to bring my mom to our room during the day - so she can sit on our balcony (I know she likes the balcony part as much as me), but at least the second room has a window - so she can see how things are "outside, - if even "her" room doesn't have a balcony.

Also I really like the idea of the rooms being on the front, as we all are going to be over 18, and would be convenient for us to use the adult areas and the spa. I really liked the Rainforest Spa on the Dream. It probably is not as great at the Magic, but I am still thinking I might try to use it.

And I have another question right away. As we never have done concierge before, and also we never had two different rooms.

I don't care that much about early booking. As if my mom and my daughter would not be booked concierge, they would not be able to get on the ship any time they want. So we would just wait for their group, and board together - not with the concierge guests.

Do you guys think we would be still able to get personal table for the whole family in main dining room? I understand that it would be kind of cheating to use concierge services for family which is not booked into the concierge. But really the price we would be paying would be even higher as if we would just book everybody in the same room. So I don't feel terrible about using concierge stuff for all of us. My mom and my daughter would not have to use a lounge for example. My mom would not care, I'm sure she would prefer comfortable bed. And my daughter - she is too spoiled already, it would not hurt her to stay away from concierge lounge. I know that I would be taking sodas for my daughter from the lounge, as she loves them. But I myself don't drink soda at all, so she would be just drinking mine ))

I can't really think what other issues we might run into. As we don't have any experience with concierge, and I don't completely understand how it works.

Veranda is considerable more expensive - from what I understand.

Actually I just looked verandahs, they are not that terribly more expensive then oceanviews. But again - the web-site doesn't seem to have any availability on the deck 8.

I am thinking that as I have only 2 people for the second room, Disney keeps me from booking the ones on the deck 8, as they seem to be able to accommodate more people. They are called "family oceanview", so they probably have additional murthy bed in them, or something like that.

Correction: I mixed up, it seems like there are only Family Verandahs on the deck 8, and they are much more expensive then the Oceanview. The 2-bedroom is still considerably more expensive then "1-bedroom + Family Verandah". But the only reason I decided to look into two rooms, is that "Oceanview for 2 + 1-bedroom for 2" is basically the same price as "1-bedroom for 4". We would not need to get second mortgage to pay even for 2-bedroom )) But I just can't justify it for myself.

I totally get it. We all have our budgets. I've looked longingly at those 2 bedrooms, thinking they'd be just perfect, but then financial reality sets in. Nothing wrong with 2 rooms, especially if it will increase everyone's comfort. As for concierge or not, unless you think your mom won't want to come to your room to share your balcony, I don't see the problem. Have you asked her what her preference is? I bet she'll agree with you about the 2nd room.

So I know this will be a more, but less than the 2bdrm conceirge with 4 people, but if I'm guessing your sailing correctly, it looks like the connecting 8024 is available. Like I said, it's probably more than you want to pay, but it is less than the 2 bdrm and you'd still be all together.
