We have a 12 year-old son and an 8 year-old daughter that we plan on sharing a cabin with. Are the sleeping arrangements in a typical outside stateroom sufficient so that the two kids won't have to share a bed? Would the family suite be more practical?

I would recommend Categories 6, 8, 9, or 10 for you. Economical... the kids will be in seperate beds... and you get the split bathroom.

Hi rykdad!

We just sail last week in a cat. 8 on deck 5. # 5504. It is perfect. It is quiet and plenty of room. We also have a son and daughter. Our son slept on the bottom bunk and our daughter on the top. They loved it so much, they talk about the bed that pulled out of the ceiling, all the time.

We've done 2 cruises in cat 6 with DS and DD. Will do same on upcoming. DS sleeps in sofa that converts to a bed and DD in the bunk that pulls out of the ceiling. And don't worry about doing all of the physical labor, your steward will do it while you're at dinner and out in the morning.
