In June we are staying at ASMo, which I assuming has 2 double beds. With DSS being 10 and DSD being 6, how do you suggest we set up sleeping arrangements? They shared a double bed last year but I'm wondering if they are getting too old for that...

I have a DS (9) and DD (7). No way I would have them sleep together. They'd be bickering over just where that dividing line down the middle is and no one would sleep. Just easier for me me to sleep with DD and husband sleep with DS. It's not like we'd be getting any action anyway. Gotta love those timeshare accommodations.

Our kids are younger than that as well (DS8 and DD4) We slept each kid with a parent.

Why would they be to old for that? At 10 and 6 they can respect each others space. I see no problem with siblings sharing a bed.

My DS 11 and DD 9 share the pullout at our DVC, no problem. They stay on their own side and respect each other's space.

Just give each of them their own separate blanket that way they aren't pulling it off of each other just to make the other one mad, and it gives each of them their own space too.

Well, not an age thing but a space thing for my kids. Give each their own blanket and top sheet. This pretty much solves the space problems as each wraps up in their own sheets/blanket- no pulling or sharing.

- really, hundreds to billions of siblings share beds all over the world each night. Gender differences/body image and comfort with differences in our bodies are a personal issue - if that is why the question of age came up, I was raised as the oldest of 18 kids- I'm adopted- so, no problems as we all slept together on vacations or trips?:confused3

You could bring an air-matress ( a real one not a float for the pool )and flip a coin to decide who sleeps on it- my boys fight over the privilage- so they flip to see who goes first then half way through, we switch the sheets and they switch beds.

If you are really wondering about the age situation and not just thinking of what other people have maybe said to you about the children sleeping in the same bed, then your Mother warning bells are going off, is the 10 year old hitting puberity/ sleep in his skivies?- you need to consider what has made you uncomfortable enough to question this situation. Then follow up on it.

Our kids are 11(DS) and 13(DD) and they share a bed when we go on vacation. I don't think they are too old for it. There are many nights at home the two will buddy up and fall asleep together watching a movie or talking. As far as fighting with each other over blankets or bed space, it has not ever happened.

My DD 14 and her brother age 7 shared a bed at POP this summer without problems. They were usually so tired they fell asleep as they were hitting the bed!

My DD12 & DS8 share a bed on our trips all the time.

DS(11) and DS (9) shared a bed last year, and will have to share again this year when we go.

Nope, not too old to share a bed. If they've done it before with no problems, then I wouldn't expect any problems this time.:thumbsup2

Our boys (11 & 8) would probably be fine sleeping together. But, we find the double beds a little tight for 2 adults so we're more comfortable if we each sleep with a kid. Besides, our 8 year old gets a little nervous sleeping in a new place so he likes to sleep with mommy!

that was about the age we started having the kids sleep with us instead of sharing a bed. I would ask their mom what she thinks. She could really have a problem with her DS and DD sharing a bed at that age.

my older 2 are 14 and 7 also. They have no problem sharing a bed

Mine all share. At my in-laws, we make the bed sideways and the 3 younger ones all share. DS10's feet hang off this way so he gets the air matress.

My kids are the exact same age and that is what we are doing. If one of them has a real problem with it, well they will just have to sleep on the floor. Call me selfish but I'm not sleeping with them or I won't get any sleep:lmao: . One moves to much and the other is glued to my side whenever she sleeps with me.

:lmao: That's how my kids are too. Me and my sister when we were 38 & 34 had to share a bed when we went on a all girls weekend get away with our mom for her 70th birthday:rotfl: :rotfl:

When my siblings and I were younger, we slept in the same bed on vacation.

Basically, we stopped when we felt it was time to stop...mostly because as we got older, some of us became bed hogs!

Our parents left it up to say "okay, we're too old/big/whatever for this".

Have a great trip! :)
