Has anyone had any experiance with the sleeper sofas at the AKL? This past week my sister and her husband slept on a sleeper sofa at Shades of Green and it was awful! They were so uncomfortable that they left the resort. Now I am worried as we have booked a one bedroom at the AKL and have offered the sleeper sofa for my sister's use -- are we just setting ourselves up for another horrible experiance? Neither she nor her husband are big people so I have to assume the mattress was too thin. What are the mattresses like at the AKL? Any comments would be much appreciated.

They are sleeper sofas. They will have a thin mattress. I own DVC and my adult children/spouses have said they'd rather not go if they have to sleep on those again. Hopefully your family isn't as picky as mine.

I have to agree I don't think sleeper sofa and comfortable can be used together.

We find them ok for one child, but definitely not two adults.

We are going to be in HUGE trouble if they are really bad. I was planning on my 2 boys to share the sofa sleeper. Ughhhh.

Have to agree too. When was the last time you got a good night's sleep on a sleeper sofa? Don't know why this would come as a surprise.

But for the OP, you must remember, as well, that SOG is NOT a Disney Hotel, so I don't know that you could assume they were all the same brand.

Have to agree with the others, generally speaking I don't think sleeper sofas are very comfortable. ALthough not at WDW, we stayed in a nice hotel in Chicago last summer with very comfortable beds but my DS decided to sleep on the sleeper sofa the first night everyone could "stretch out" on their own bed.

Next night I was asked to "move" to DH's bed so DS could get a good night's sleep which I didn't really mind (although it was nice to have a bed to myself one night) :goodvibes

One night, maybe two, but I don't think it'd be pleasant to be stuck on a sofa bed for a week's vacation, just sayin'

If you are staying at Kidani the 1 bedrooms have a sleeper couch and a sleeper chair. My sister and I, both in our 30's used those last year. While not ideal I actual thought the sleeper sofas were better than I remembered. The biggest thing for me was that the pole was no where near the middle of my back, a common problem with sleep sofas. Also, having 2 beds made a huge difference since the sleep sofas are smaller than a normal bed.

Again, it wasn't ideal but I would do it again if need be as I slept fine.

Thanks to everyone for answering! I really appreciate the input. This Board really has the best people on it.
