We are interested in a studio villa at AKL Kindani village for April 2017. Book with Disney, not points. This is our first trip with 3 kids. What are people's experiences with the sleeper sofa? Do you have to pull out the bed each day yourself? Make the bed? Put it away in the morning? IE what does housekeeping do vs. what do you need to do yourself?

The room will be very small to move in if you do not put the sofa back in daily. I do not know if housekeeping will do that.

Studios only sleep 4 plus one child under 3, and with the sleeper out and a pack and play there won't be much room to move.

I agree with Auroraborealis - the room is too small to manage without putting the sleeper sofa back while you get ready for the day. With the beds out there is very little floor space to move around. It isn't difficult to fold the beds up, though, so no worries.

Our DS and DDIL (with the two DGD's) stay in studios all the time, but they own DVC. It is very tight quarters when everyone goes to bed. I don't know what housekeeping will do as we have no experience with DVC housekeeping. I suspect that housekeeping would be willing to put the bed back for you, but I doubt that you will be able to manage without folding it back yourself anyway.

Housekeeping has limited time to get the basics done. My best guess: I would expect the bathroom cleaned, trash removed, towels replaced and any beds made. Hopefully someone else will know more.

You must manage the sleeper sofa yourself. As the others have stated, there is very little room to move with the sofa open. It is easy to do.
Why are you interested in the Villa paying with cash? If you are not going to use the kitchenette a Standard room with a day bed may be roomier for you.

The sofa beds are already made. You simply open it to use it. In my experience housekeeping leaves it open

How old is your youngest? Im guessing under 3 since studio only sleeps 4. I agree paying cash you'd have a lot more room in a non DVC standard room. AKL has 2 type of rooms, either 2 queens, or a queen plus bunk beds. And you can have your little one in a pack & play. AKL doesn't have rooms with day beds.

We often stay in a DVC studio at AKL Jambo or Kidani - above is correct, you must open & close up the sleeper sofa yourselves each day, Housekeeping does not do this for you. The bed ill be made up when you open it, extra pillows will be on the shelf in the closet. We always close it up as soon as we wake up, it takes up a lot of space in the room. Enjoy!

I stayed at Kidani Village once, and there isn't really enough room to leave the sofa sleeper set up all the time. That room area isn't that large.

I'll be staying in the same type of room next year except I'm renting points. It's so much cheaper than paying the cash prices!

Thanks all. We have no flexibility on our dates and it's over Easter, so i don't think experimenting with renting points is going to work for us this year. I love AKL, so definitely want to stay there. Standard rooms are $600 more. So.... The kids will be 16 months, 8yr and 8yr. Thanks for the thoughts on the fold out bed.

Eight year old kids should be fine on the double sized sleeper sofa.
