Has anyone here done this indoor skydiving experience, if so was it worth it?

My DH wanted to do this last time but we never got round to it. He is hoping to do it when we go next week, so if you can wait I can let you know how it went. Needless to say, I WILL NOT be attempting it myself :rotfl:

Can't wait to hear about it Joh, please could you look and see if its really scarey? my DS (9) can't wait to do it neither can my Mum!! I'm sure it'll be too much for other members of our party Reg (71 -history of heart problems)and their son Dan (9 - but a bit wussy) but Dans mum Ruth is keen.

I looked at it from the outside last time - that looked scary enough for me :rotfl: I will certainly go with him if/when he does it, so I will let you know.

We get back on 27th September so feel frre to 'nudge' me with a PM if I don't remember to post.

Have'nt done the indoor experience, but doing the outdoor skiydiving experience ! when I go in 3 wks, a place called sky dive space center. Its near kennedy space center and cocoa beach (fantastic view on the way down !). It will be from 15000ft strapped to someone who knows what they are doing (hopefully). I did a skydive a couple of years ago in the UK, and it was fantastic, I was on a high for weeks, and its so much cheaper in US, I thought it was too good an opportunity to miss. :jumping1:

I would say it is not particularly scary, but it IS a lot more difficult than it looks. It is also a lot of fun and quite addictive - once you've done it, you'll be keen to have another go!! A really good experience.

Thanks Simon, really looking forward to it now. :cool1:

Didn't try it but on our last trip my DH was seriously considering it! :teeth:

Remember to look in your coupon books as we found vouchers for $5 off in those free books you can pick up all along I-Drive! ;)

Hi,

Youngest DD did this a couple of years back and she was only 7 at the time!

Viewing is free to anyone and I'd recommend anyone to give it a try.

Thanks Bonzo, will get it booked soon

Would love to hear what you make of it Carol, I think it looks like fantastic fun! Bonzo, I think it was in your trippie I first read about this!

i have done one just not there! i have to say it was amazing! especially if your the type of person that has always wanted to do something different but was always a bit concerned about doing a real sky dive! would recommend, an experience not to be missed!

if you mean the sky dive / wind tunnel on I-Drive, it was on Departure lounge (bbc1) last week. it costs £23 for 2 one minute dives.

Thanks Littlelaura, thats where I first saw it! Am going to book it soon and will post a report when I get back

i found it on the I-ride trolly website about a week before it was on tv. was thinking of trying it out, but i think its quite pricey for just a couple of mins (we're on a limited budget). hope you enjoy it though.

We tried it out, and it was lots of fun. Yes it is a bit pricey for only a few minutes, but it is more than just the dive part, they also give you lessons, and that takes a bit longer. It is also pretty tiring, so if you are new to the experience, you might only be able to do it for a few minutes without getting tired (You might even be a little sore the next day - because you use muscles you may not normally use too much.)
They also offer you a dvd of the experience. Again, it is a little pricey, but it's kind of a cool thing to have.
